Anyone interested in a PSA Sanding disk kit for razor restoration?
I want to put together a 1 1/4" PSA disc sanding kit of the following grits: 100, 150, 220, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1200, 1500, 2000 and 2500 using Hand American PSA backed silicone carbide sand paper. This will allow taking a razor from badly pitted disaster to polishing paste ready.
The kit will have 50 disks of each grit, or 550 disks total, a disk mandrel either 3/32 or 1/8 shank at your choosing, disk surface made from about 1/4" leather (thicker than on my first mandrel) and a plastic storage box to store all these with room to spare for other bits and pieces.
Now, I want one of these but it is not cost effective for me to to make just one for myself when it comes to punching of the abrasive disks. I need to make 5 or more. So I am looking for at least another 4 people who are interested in this kit.
If anyone is interested in such a kit, the cost would be $30, snail mail S&H included anywhere in North America. Making a per disk price 5.5 cents/disk with S&H, mandrel and box effectively free.
The advantage over what is available commercially is a larger disk and having all the grits up to 2500 which you can't buy in disk form. It is also much cheaper than the 15 cents per disk for 1" disks (and that is in quantities of 100 at www.discount-tools.com).
It would take me probably a week to get all the supplies and put the kits togther. So you are looking at getting it in your hands in about two to three weeks depending on the postal service.
Any takers?

What the heck, I haven't won an e-bay auction for a couple of days now so I've got some cash burning a hole in my pocket. Put me down for one as well.

If Bill is in, then I'm in! Seriously, that's about half price from what I have seen.

Say, I might have missed a thread, but; how does the leather work for sticking to the PSA at speed? I have chewed up a few mandrels with discs slipping off center.
