This issue about Eschers v. Thuringians has gotten confused because we don't all use the same terminology. I don't think there's any serious dispute that other companies – Fox, Droescher, etc. – packaged, labeled, and sold the exact same stone as Escher & Co. It used to be common on SRP to simply call these "eschers," whatever brand they were, saving "Thuringian" for the NOS stones sold by Muller, MST etc. The sands have shifted a bit and now it's more common to call the first sort of stone a "vintage Thuringian," the second a mere "Thuringian."

I for one do not think this for a second. In fact I've had six or seven vintage thuringians, and sold off all the Escher & Co ones because they fetch so much on ebay. The one I've kept as my standby is a generic 7x1.5 yellow-green. Again, I'm not talking about the Muller NOS stones.
