Second to having the guy go only through ebay message system. Have him open a case (if not already). Ebay will store ALL information that goes through the case including pictures. Phone calls are off the record.
edit: and also, looking at the pics, if he can get a closer pic of the collar - if corrosion / verdigris has been removed he has obviously changed the razor. I don't know if ebay has a policy about returning things after they have been tampered with by a buyer. IMO just looking at the pics of the cracking, it looks like it has been hammered to tighten with catastrophic failure.Last edited by ScienceGuy; 10-08-2013 at 01:24 AM.

Sad thing is there is no way I know of for sellers and buyers to exchange photos on ebay messaging. Am I wrong? We know they try hard every day to absolve themselves from blame. Guess I don't blame them in the least! Still, if they want all commmunication done there, it should include pictures and especially ones related to a contested purchase.
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

I think Sharptonn raised an interesting point about the pin. There are a lot of camera/flash abnormalities that could contribute to this, but things look different in that area.

Try giving the guy a call and seeing what his game is. I'm not sure if the seller can open a dispute but if the buyer does you can dispute his claim and tell your side. If the photos can prove anything you do have the fact that he is not sending the razor back in the same condition that you sent it.
OTOH, insurance is the seller's responsibility as far as ebay is concerned. What is the dollar value ? Not that I want to know but is it worth a negative feedback to argue with the guy ? I have over 1k feedbacks, all positive and there were times when I had to placate a buyer to keep it at 100%. Maybe that is not important to you but I mention it in passing.

Thanked: 1184Do everything through resolution center. Get it and the box back. Just hold your tongue and give him a refund after you get the razor back. Tell him that is your policy. That is what I would do. You don't know what is going on for sure so making up a story in your head will only add fuel to your anger. You have your e-Bay game stated so stick to it. Your return policy gives people confidence to bid so sometimes it costs to make is how you have to look at it. If he is trying to pull something he will learn that it doesn't always work . At least you didn't get a note saying "where is it, I never got it" . King of hard with tracking these days but if you cut those corners once again it will cost something in the end. It's all a part of doing business believe me.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

OP I agree with others it appears to be two different razors. That said maybe there is an identifying mark or marks that can tell the two apart. I still think you're gonna need to bite the bullet and do a refund.
It wasn't mentioned by anyone but your second to the last picture in the eBay listing appeared to show a hair line crack in the scales.
