    Default About to get shafted?

So, I sold this Friodur on the Bay. Vintage J A Henckels Friodur Wedge 11 V No Stain Straight Razor Shave Ready | eBay and now the guy says that it arrived with the scales cracked clean off at the pivot end, and with cracks on both sides on the wedge end.

i KNOW the razor was fine when I packaged it up. It would have had to have been run over to damage the razor under all that bubble wrap.

I know BUYERS have protection against getting defective merchandise, but what about us sellers? Is there anything that will save me from having a piece of garbage sent back to me and me eating the loss?

I know many of you sell far more frequently than I, so I hope you will know more about this side of things than I do.

    Thanks Guys!

Tell him to show pics first.
If it comes to it tell him to send it back for a refund.
I think if you state that you will refund then the item is returned you are somewhat shielded from scam.
Do not forget to ask him to send it with sig request and post the number in the dispute, so that there is trace that he actually sent you the razor back.

Is there pictures of the pivot point of the item if there was no visible crack you may have a chance but more then likely not that ebay will side woth the buyer since he initially cracked the scales being the hulk for some reason but i hope ebay faults the guy for your sake its ashame what people will do. And i dont see a crack ge hulked on it

It was snug in the scales, and closed close to the side. I probably tried to bend it over a little bit and popped it. I have all the original photos, including the Hi Rez, which show no damage at the pivot.

The guy just sent me a photo of the pivot end, and it is not just snapped in half, but broken into 3 pieces! How should I handle this?

Can he prove he did not break it?
Ask him to send back and you will refund him.
What kind of packaging did you use?

Are you sure it was not damaged in transit? Was it boxed and well padded and not just sent in a bubble envelope? Was the shipment sent via priority mail? If so it automatically has $50 of damage or loss coverage.
If it was damaged in transit you need to require that he return the original packaging so you can verify transit damage. For
a straight to have the damage he described to you the packaging damage would be obvious.

Edited to add: Your ebay ad clearly states a full refund if customer is not satisfied. You need to get away from that language in the future. You owe him a full refund when he returns the razor to you.
