“"This blade has been professionally restored. Brilliant brightness. I cannot imagine what a restorer would charge to do this level of work today".”

DESCRIPTION: This auction is for an early 1800's Wade & Butcher straight razor blade that has been professionally restored. This blade I found in a group of straight razors I bought years ago. I kept it in hopes of running across a collector that could use it. Never did, so time to offer it to the person that needs it in the eBay Community. It is in the original box, i think, which has helped to keep the restoration intact. The blade width is 13/16". There really isn't any blemishes on this blade. Whoever restored it, was good. The blade will need to be honed. The restorer did not hone the blade for the face. Please look at all the photos as they offer a more detailed description. I have provided the last one with part of the camera so you could see just how bright the blade is. Photos really do not tell the tale on brightness. If you restore or build your own razors, then this blade is certainly for you. I am offering this antique razor blade for your use with NO RESERVE. Good Luck!

Now whoever professionally reground that blade went all the way into the spine, so if no tape is used, it is going to have a really wide bevel since the spine is much thinner. It might take half a roll of tape to make a thin bevel!
I don't put the links in because after so long, if a newbe is looking, they won't be able to see it so I just copy & paste the wording & copy a couple of the pics.
    Beautiful POS!

There is also a heel hook developed from putting too much pressure while buffing towards the heel.

Plus Shipping?!? Whatever--What a Deal!! Now where's those cases of Williams Shaving Soap Pucks I bought a few years ago and stored as an investment--time to ride the wave and cash in.

Hope you noticed that it is posted from Israel. Import costs and the like and that is still equivalent to a US price.
