Vintage Straight Razor Dorko Razor Model 1957 Solingen Germany Shipping Free | eBay
I really don't understand where these people get their prices from. Like do they do no market research. That dorko had 0 bids. Not surprising but why waste the time with putting something out for that price when if they just did a little research the razor probably would have sold and they would have gotten what they are going to get for that razor. I guarantee this guy is going to re-list it at only a little bit less, of course with the same result.
Bordee,
Please be aware that the handles only LOOK nice. They are giving off acid fumes, which were the cause of the razors corroding.
If you do not intend to replace them DO NOT close the blade inside the scales for storage. Leave it open or you will just watch your hard work and money turn back into more rust.

This can be yours for a mere $270.00
Seems to be a lot of cell rot between the metal crystals. Polish it and a week later it will be dull red again. I bit on a couple back when.

I'm sorry, but just because a razor is listed at an absurdly high dollar amount, it doesn't count as a "shame" Not until somebody actually BIDS on it! Then, the only REAL shame, is that we were not smart enough to do it first! :gaah:
Um, excuse me? Anyone else ever see something like the two on the left?

Actually I have seen ones like those. I don't remember the post it was in but if I remember correctly I think some one said the were Chinese and not like gold dollar Chinese, I mean like old school, really old school chinese. But don't quote me on that it was a while ago that I saw this. Just saying that I have seen someone post before about one.

Solid. At 50 bones it's a steal.
Yes, Chinese they are. Those are about the best I've seen. May be a good buy at that. The head shave Kamisori looks good. Usually the Chinese go for about Half that total, each. Haven't shaved with one though.Attachment 185748
A bigger razor than I have seen usually they are 6 inches total closed an about a two inch blade.

This one cracks me up:
Rasiermesser mit Griff aus Knochen J.A. Hellberg | eBay
I bought mine last week for $3.76...
I read somewhere that these were from the era of the California gold rush when they had Chinese laborers working the mines.
They might have been pounded out of shovels, or any waste steel they could find.
I'd buy a decent one or pair, just as a historical reminder.
Just what I read, but can't remember where. :D
Howard :)
Another nice razor, at least the seller is quite honest about the state.
I wouldn't pay that much for it ;) I could use the scales, but I don't think the seller will entertain the offer I have in mind ;)
This is now on my Christmas list.
