Thanked: 22But since he can ship the razors for a few dollars, he should invest the rest of the money into buying a small box filled with that foam stuff. IMO
I am quite certain somebody posted the other day saying Tommy knows Jack about razors, thats why his descriptions are off as with his prices. I don't think it matters whether or not he knows about razors anyway, common sense tells you to pack items well.
Not being bitchy at you Philadelph, it's just my 0.02 worth.

Tommy wraps the razors individualy in paper towel then surrounds them with heavy carboard all nice and tight
puts it in the padded enveloppe with packing so it will not move
i think it's quite secured

Thanked: 44When tommy ships he uses a bubble wrapped envelope and he wraps some paper towel around the razor and then he takes some cardboard and folds it around the razors and staples it flush and rigid. I though it was a little light but he says has has never had a razor damaged this way. I always ship in envelopes wrapped in foam and have had no issues

After the last few comments.....I think that I have purchased a razor or two from him in the past. I know that I have received a couple shipped the way that was just described (bubble envelope/stapled inside cardboard) without any problems. I remember grimacing when seeing the packages because I had received a few in envelopes only that arrived with the scales broken (from misc. eboy vendors) and was afraid of the same outcome with these. Thankfully that was not the case.

Have you contacted Tommy with your concerns? He sells a lot of razors. . . he sells a lot to members of the various forums.
You may put off some of the younger shavers by bad mouthing someone (in fact I hope you do, the prices are insane), but anyone with experience may figure your post tells more about you than the seller. . . that is certain if you don't send him a polite note regarding your issues.
Regards

Thanked: 3I just won an auction from Tommy last night. I've yet to see how closely the razorm matches the description. I wouldn't get too bent out of shape on the shipping cost however. It's visible before you bid, and anyone who bids on Ebay and doesn't factor shipping into their bid is either very new or very slow. To me, it's essentially setting a starting bid - just a way to guarantee at least a little profit.
I feel bad for new people who get deceived out of a few bucks, but I've seen much more ridiculous examples. Regardless, I'm anxious to see what my new Henckels looks like.

Thanked: 95I won an auction last week, and the razor arrived to day, so his shipping is fast, shipping price to Norway ($12) just about average for an ebay seller. His packing was good imho, and the razor wasn't damaged so it was good enough. I'll probably stop by him another time
