I stopped by tommy's and we looked and I see it is a bengall. I saw all of the bengals he had and they were all in very good shape. I took several and even put 1 in the giveaway for a newby. He also said that JScott has never contacted him about the problem.

I used Tommy a while back and got maybe 100+ pieces from him. A couple were not too good but I had no problem with refund etc. His razors seemed better when they were being shipped ex Bristol UK - he has for a while I think shipped ex-US (Fort Lauderdale area?) and some have nor been so good. As for descriptions, tend to think he uses templates a lot that, given the volume he shoved through a while back (about 2,000, maybe more) is maybe understandable! I used to put maybe 10 razors a week on eBay and doing dedicated descriptions + 4 photos for each one took the time up!

I think anyone buying from Tommy or his ilk should have in the back of their minds that somewhere along the line you will get a dog. Difference is you can send this dog back!

I'd use him again - in fact just been having a look, as he dropped og the radar for quite a while.

I've bought razors from Tommy before.
    I would do so again.
His prices aren't the "cheapest" but he does have some good razors at pretty fair starting prices. Mine arrived as described.
    No problems at all personally

I received razor advertised as "THE BLADE PASS THE TUMB NAIL TEST ..JUST NEEDS STROPPING"

Of course, the razor was dull as a banana peel, but I didn't bid on it expecting it to be sharp. Still, why advertise it that way if one knows razors?

How the hell can anyone complain about the cost of $8.00 postage to the USA when you get quoted the likes of $29.90 from the USA I even had one sent to me quoted $12.50 in the auction stamp on the unpadded cardboard envelope stated $1.75, now I’m not defending anyone on E-bay even the ones sending within the UK stuff the price up, personally I think every seller whacks up the price of the S&H that’s how some of them make their money I have seen some lovely razors on there from America and Canada but have not bid on them after contacting the seller about the cost of S&H as the postage would and has in some cases doubled the end price.
I get razors from a guy in Texas he charges $8.50 saw a one from another seller same area (checked on a map) wanted $37.50, the only seller that sent any razors or shaving gear in a well packed box at a cheap S&H price is open-razor from Poland, but the easy answer is if you don’t like the price don’t bid

    True in what you're saying

but, any razor that has performed a thumb nail test will need honed again imo.

I agree. Sure, his shipping isn't exactly cheap but at least it is quick. Also, perhaps we should keep in mind that these sellers are in it to make money not provide a cheap service. Personally, I factor shipping into my max bid - to a point. If someone were to quote $30 for first class USPS from Texas well, forget about it.

The two razors I have purchased from tommyrazor have arrived quickly and in good shape. I would not hesistate bidding on his wares simply because he is making a few extra bucks on the shipping.

I often go back and forth on shipping. I have a total max price when I bid, so when I subtract the shipping from it that's what the bid is. To some extent high shipping costs are not different from high starting bid, except they are labeled differently and the seller doesn't get charged ebay fees on the shipping. The only disadvantage to me as a buyer is that careless bidders who don't factor in the shipping charges may outbid me, or at least make me pay more if I end up winning. But then if somebody wants to pay more for an item than me it shuld be theirs.

Interestingly few weeks ago I bought something which including shipping cost basically $17+/-$1 in any ebay store. That total price was broken up from $0.99+$16s&h to $17+Free s&h depending on who you purchase it from.
