Thread: What's the deal with these Damascus blades??

Since people are getting so curious, I started getting curious, and I sent him a follow up email. Our last communication was 12 days ago, when he asked me what I thought about two new blade designs.

yes that definitely seems like Jeff's way of communicating Dylan
i sent him many emails but with no replies, i had to call him from overseas 4-5 times in order to talk with the guy and he still got it wrong.

Wow, ever since i first started this post, i've noticed a number of so called Damascus makers that have popped up from no where all selling the same/similar products.
220578635811 this one is a straight razor and is meant to cut everything EXCEPT human facial hair, i laughed when i saw that
230457497495 and this guy has no description of his item at all, just 7 pages of legal rules and conditions for his no return and handling fees policies it scared the crap out of me just reading all his rules

Got an email back. I'm told the razor will go in the mail Wednesday morning.

I would be surprised if it pass the honing.

Will it be shave ready , or are you supposed to hone it ? I would think that someone who has the talent to make such fine razors , would not think of sending it unhoned .

when i was dealing with him, he told me that he does not hone them and that they must be honed before shaving.

Well , I wish the best of luck to the honemiester . Who knows , maybe the steel is good . I can't wait to hear the verdict on this razor .

It doesnt matter what the honemiester says about that blade.
There will still be the question of "is this blade the same quality as all the other ones he sells"

If he made sure to get a better blade to Dylan, and all the rest of the ones he sells are of lesser quality, nobody will know until its way too late.

My concerns (among others like lack of stamp) exactly. Will be interesting where it's postmarked from...
