Thread: Do You Shave Everyday With A Straight

I'm wondering how many of you shave everyday with your straight razor? How many skip days. How many of you switch hit between straights and DE razors?

I shave every other day unless I have an event. I only use a straight except sometimes a DE when traveling.

For 4 or 5 years I shaved every day with a straight religiously. At some point I allowed myself to shave with a DE once in awhile without feeling as if I was committing sacrilege. It is a slippery slope. Next thing you know I was skipping days, shaving every other day ........ albeit with a straight unless time constraints (Sunday morning before church) compelled me to break out the Merkur slant with Feather. (fine shave BTW)

Now I may go a couple of days without shaving because I can. I find that it is good for the way my skin responds and since I am retired I'm not obligated to look more presentable than I do.

DE shaves 3 to 4 times a week, straight shaves the rest of the time.

Be careful with those DEs guys, you will be shaving your legs next! LOL

I shave every 3-4 days. I use a straight for the first 2 passes, then finish with a de. I will use just the de if I'm in a hurry.

I shave with a SR most days, after a shower. I then relather and do one pass with touchup using a Merkur Vision. I get the closest longest lasting shaves and smoothest skin this way. This shave is much better for me than when using a DE alone.

Straight Razor ONLY for me.

I would shave every day if I had to but I have a s l o w growing beard.

Shave every day mostly with straights and sometimes with a DE.
