So how often do you cut yourself shaving? Not weepers, but cuts?

When I first started about once a week, and a couple are still showing their effects.

Now, I'll get a little nick about once every ten days.


Any tips or tricks from the vets for healing cuts?

I bleed every time I shave, I have uneven skin lol. I have only cut myself once, and I well never forget it because I wear the badge I was trying a technique out thatI rag about in an old book. It was talking about a diagonal motion instead of straight north south. Wow did I bleed, I needed butterfly stitches.

I cut myself twice, both times on the upper lip. One was a too-steep angle that sliced into my just under the nose. No scar because it was a very clean cut. The second I actually cut into the lip trying to to a sort of XTG/ATG pass on the upper lip for the first time. I have a very small scar from that but you don't see it if you don't know it's there. I've had dozens of little weeping pinpricks but I don't count them as cuts.

Mine was on the lip too, to the right of my nose. It was a clean cut but it was very deep I never used that stroke again lol

as your skills improve the nicks will subside... little weepers do not count... to maybe once a year. in fact just yesterday, i was shaving with a livi 7/8 that i frequently use and it just stopped on my chin and drew a little blood, not once but twice...
used and alum block on the nick and todays shave with the same razor went just fine.

Touch wood never now, I did at first usually under the nose while attempting the Coupe de Maitre, a relatively short upper lip coupled with a 6/8 blade made for some interesting contortions!

Man, I really got lay off on the pressure and maybe get my edge checked out.

Almost never. An old barber told me to hold the razor securely but lightly enough so that is if it pulls the razor will flex in your fingers and be less likely to nick. He also told me to never force it if it does pull. Following that advice I have rarely gotten a nick.

Alum blocks works well, so does Proraso stryptic gel.

Yep, pressure will cut you for sure.
