Personally, Mine does hang in the bathroom. (next to the sink) I have a fairly powerful ventilation fan and humidity stays very low. Sure there are a few water spots on the leather,(from splashover) but meh...

I do agree though that high and constant humidity will cause leather to cup. That's definitely bad for strops. In the end it comes down to your own personal situation. I like to keep my gear in a single centralized location, minus the stones!

I have an old vintage strop that I had been trying to recondition. I was following advice that I had found on this forum, and was not receiving the results I wanted. I continued to be disappointed with my results until I moved my strop out of the bathroom. Now I hang them on a hook in the stairwell across the hall from the bathroom.

I have mine in the back bedroom, positioned at exactly 39 inches from the floor, just my preference and with a carpeted floor gives me a nice safety factor that should an accident occur such as the razor falling from my hand there's no damage done, I won't go near tiled bathroom or kitchen floors when it comes to stropping.

Waist high. Roughly the same as pro barbers had them on the hook built into the arm or their barber chairs. I zip tie to a door knob with some, eye bolt in a door jamb with some and hooked to a wire shelf with others. None in the bathroom with the humidity.

I had wondered about humid/wet environment affecting the leather so that at least partially confirms those suapicions. Never thought about the floor but that is a good point of consoderation for sure.

I wonder if those door stops that fit on a door hinge would work as an anchor point; not the 'TtWwAaNnGg' type from days ago but the newer adjustable ones with the nylon foot on one end and a rubber bumper on the other? Might be able to put that on the middle door hinge and be good to go!?

Love the idea of a display case! I bought a corner cabinet a month or so ago to display cups, brushes, misc and razors... But that is on the other side of the house. Next year might just be 'Bathroom Remodel' time with Shave Den focus!? :-)

Well after I cut my flowing locks, what else was I gonna do with my old hair ties except knot them so with a steel "O" ring so I can snap my strop onto the towel rack with ease? Seemed like the most logical decision if you ask me ...

man I miss that long hair ...

Mine hangs from the bathroom door knob. Purchase a leather thong, girth it around your strop hook, put an overhand knot in the two ends to form a large loop and drape it over the bathroom door knob. With the door open you'll pull against the perpendicular door knob shaft making use of the grater room distance from angle to angle, opposed to wall to wall. The pull on the strop will steady the unlatched door. The lurking sweetheart can easily see her suitor doing a manly task without risk to the strop or her person by opening a door while you're stropping. I too have a dinky shave cave. I have never given the humidity a second thought. The fogged mirror bothers me more than a humidity dampened strop. This is just my way of doing things. Good luck.

I hang my hanging Jimboroo strop on a hook on the wall by the shaving sink, and my leather strops hang on a hook on the wall in my bedroom. I also hang my paddle strops - weird, I know. I've placed the hooks about waist high
