Where/How Do You Hang Your Strop?
I did a search, 'Where do you hang your strop', and found the threads on the first results page were from '07/'09 so thought it might be a good topic to re-visit...
I currently have my strop clipped to a rope tied around the foot of my log bed. That is where I had previously hung an old belt I had converted to a srrop for use with knife honing/sharpening so didn't give it much thought.
But, I've got a new strop coming and a couple more sitting in my Cart waiting for future paydays so I was thinking of different ways to do it. My bathroom is tight, not much more than two steps out one door or the other, so not much room to move or strop. I have been thinking about looping a piece of nylon webbing around the middle hinge then clipping a strop to that and stropping in my bedroom just outside the bathroom door but am currently undecided and looking for inspiration.
How/Where do you hang your strop? And, ir it's convenient and you have a really different, unique, cool, weird way you do this or deal with tight spaces or weird configurations can you put up a pic as well? I read some replies describing moulded/custom hangers that sounded cool but I was not sure what they actually looked like. So, pics may help.

I have mine hanging from the door frame to my apartment..I have an old chain latch that is never used and the chain part just hangs there, so I clipped it on there. It does not interfere with the door and it never gets touched with anyone walking in or out so that is where it went.

Thanked: 334I hang mine off of a hook screwed into the basement stairs. Never gets wet, yet humid enough so it doesn't dry out, plenty of room if I start "air stropping" to CCR , and SWMBO can't sneak up and surprise the bejabbers outta me!

All of mine are hanging off a hook below my new razor display case located in my second bathroom/shave den.
I dream of a world where a chicken can cross a road without having it's motives questioned.

Mine hang on a hook on the dresser in my bedroom, right around chest height. I do all of my stropping for the next morning before I go to bed.

I have an eyelet bolt screwed into the hinge side of the bathroom door frame, outside the bathroom, about four feet off the ground. I like to strop pretty much level. I picked the hinge side because there is a lot smaller chance I'll shut the strop in the door.
I hook one of those crappy little key-chain carabiners through the D-ring on the strop and the eyelet bolt. It isn't super pretty, but it is really functional in a very, very small apartment.
If this doesn't follow I can post a photo, but I'll have to find my camera.Last edited by falingore; 10-06-2012 at 03:32 AM. Reason: Lousy Grammar, Again

Used to have it hanging in the bathroom but I found it had started to cup from the humidity from showers. So now it hangs on the wall in my linen closet. Haven't had trouble since.
