I don't think it should be microwaved... here is a quote from the manufacturer

Better pre-warm the scuttle with less hot water that would not burn your hand if held under it (50 to 60 °C).
Let the scuttle store the heat for a couple of minutes, then empty and refill it with hotter water, not boiling, though.
    How does it work otherwise?

You can put them in a microwave, no problem.
The above quote was just meant to keep users from pouring boiling water in the scuttle when it is cold. This is no problem with a "normal", one-walled mug, but assembled ceramics like my scuttles have to be treated a bit more carefully, i. e. pre-heated by filling not-too-hot water in first. After that, boiling water is no problem either, but don't tell anyone. Then again, you don't want your lather to be THAT hot.
    Microwaving is fine.

or the manufacturer could contribute himself directly.

Oh, and Oskar, when are these scuttles going to be made in custom colors... like Lime Green and Neon Orange?

    Never.
I have a good excuse: I have a colour weakness and don't perceive colours like others do.
But anyway, black and white is what I like best and what I think fits best into bathroom surroundings.
Apart from that: You just cannot imagine how hard and time-consuming and awkward it is to develop a glaze. Believe me.
I do, however, have a "runny" glaze that I might use again. Look.

Definatley like that look... would you stay with the blue or go back to the black/grey/white?

Beautiful scuttle, Oskar. I aim to buy one once I get back to the States in May.

Thank you, guys. I'll try to keep my business going until then.
I'll definitely stick to black and white - I do see and like the blue and the green!
That runny glaze is quite unpredictable, though, it will need some testing.

I just ordered a scuttle from Oskar, he gave me a great deal on one.

It is a black and white one with some glaze that dripped where it shouldn't have, but I think it makes the scuttle UNIQUE!

I can't wait for it to get here. Oskar was even nice enough to send me pictures of that baby.

From what I've seen from Oskar's pictures and the pictures on this thread, that is one BIG BABY!

    Default XL-Scuttle

I just ordered Oskars XL-Scuttle in black and white. It`s in the mail to Norway at the moment, can`t wait to receive it. It will leave my Georgetown 4 a retired scuttle

The Simpson Chubby 3 is eagerly awaiting this giant, and my face is looking forward to a winter with hot lather for at least 4 passes! Pictures to come when I get the beauty.
