Thanked: 0Well you all have some very nice dens. As I'm just getting into the world of shaving addiction, I can see I have a long and enjoyable road ahead. I tend to collect and get totally engrossed into what ever I am doing. So a proper shave den with many brushes, creams, soaps and razors will be in my future I'm sure. Right now I have one brush, two soaps and one old Gillette super speed, and my Clubman Pinaud. So I just take up space in one shelf of the cabinet for now. Thank you (I think) for all the great ideas.

Here's my humble shave den. The hanging razor rack is one I stole from myself. It's a pipe rack ready made for 7 day rotation. The other razor rack was for testtubes. Works great.

Thanks. I actually bought it for the purpose. Went to Wal-mart and found a bowl and measuring cup that fit together right, and presto, instant scuttle. I'm sure that the scuttles on the market would look better and do a better job, since that's what they're designed for, but that one's cheap and does a good enough job for me.

Thanked: 530Glad I'm not the only one using a spoon rack...
My sister used to collect spoons, so her collecting case is now my razor rack... I used a dremel to widen the top row so that scales can fit in (If anyone else likes this idea, make sure you barely widen them at all, or don't even touch them, until you have a razor big enough to warrant it... You can always make the rack big enough for the razor in the future, but you can't put that wood back.) and then took a paint stirrer from Home Depot, trimmed it to about half an inch wide, and super glued it across the bottom row so it would hold the tails in place... Gimme a sec, I'll post pics

Thanked: 530Alright, here are a few (3) Pictures of my razor case... It's big enough for now, but I'm going to have to make a new case, or pick up a 7-day roll from SRD soon... I have a big order on it's way back from Brad
And then there's a picture of my would-be shave "den"... can 'ya tell that I live in a basement? Damn, I thought I hid it so well...
But, there is a silver lining to my 19-year-old storm cloud.. If you look closely at the last picture, you will find that I've discovered a wondrous thing... There is a tree that blooms only in this basement, and it only blooms when planted in a bed of money... It's the mystical strop tree... with an expensive, green soil you too may plant the seeds of a strop-bearing tree.

It has been a while since I cruised this thread and thought I would update with my shave den pictures "again". The first picture is my soap and accessory shelf which I made myself from a Red Oak tree I harvested from my yard. The finish is 5 coats of spray poly. My razor rack has a completely different set of razors than was in the original picture posted. The other picture is my Shave Brush display of which about half have been restored and reknotted by me. There are two of them which were made out of Tequila corks.

Well after a slow battle of moving one item at a time over a month period, I was able to claim a spot in the bathroom I share with my twin sisters. The best part is the shelf is right at neck level so everything is easy to grab at. Yes there are some empty spots to my razor roll thingy mabob, but in time they will fill up and I'll have to make another. No I didn't come up with the idea. Saw another member's flickr pictures of his and made one myself though a lot smaller. That silver monster is my dad's brush that I had made him for father's day. He is on a business trip selling Airhawk cushions so I'm borrowing it for the time being. Tee Hee.
