nah those things just drain the condensation water from the ac and it just dribbles onto the dirt outside you house. I dont know if the trap he made is normal, as the water in there, if its stagnant may mold up and clog it one day. But Im no plumber so take my comments with a grain of salt.

Agree with outback, it is an air lock. Should not leak, best fix is to replace. Near impossible to repair from the outside. Bodgy job if I ever saw one.

If it were me I would try to remove the elbow if possible and replace it with a new one using PVC glue. there's two bottles ones are primer the other ones of the glue ,once they touch it stuck like contact cement but it melts the plastic slightly. There's directions on the back of the can just tell him what you looking for when you get to the store. Hell show him the pictures you showed us, then tell him what you want to do. They may have a better fix than myself, or easier

Go see if that pipe is visible on the ouside of the wall. I kind of doubt it goes to the sewer but hey you live in Florida and water drainage is kind of an issue in those parts.

I'll have to look tomorrow,,, it would exit the wall outside the neighbor's window,,, if I do it now, I might get shot or arrested for peeping.

Yeah it is easy as. Hacksaw is about all you need. Plenty of glue... I could pop over and do it, but the travel time would be crazy....

    Just my observation,,,,,,,
No need for a Pee trap on supply lines? Old Goldberg was here!

    Not a supply, a drain.
The water in the trap would also inhibit bugs from entering the house, depending on where it dains to.
