Thanked: 3795I had a different sort of bait box...
In the nineties I placed an order for an item to be shipped to me. My girlfriend picked up the package and because she was very self-centered and high maintenance, she naturally assumed that the bix contained a gift for her. Naturally she ignored my name on the package and opened that box which contained 2 pounds of Eisenia fetida
...also known as redworms, to be used for composting.
Needless to say she was not happy with the surprise in the box.Last edited by Utopian; 05-14-2018 at 03:05 AM.

Every once in awhile I'll fix 'Grandma Burgers' for the grandkids. We didn't have hamburger buns very often when I was growing up/white bread was a universal product.
Mom would cube up the bread if it happened to get stale and no one every seemed to eat the ends anyway that's what was dried and used for stuffing at Thanksgiving or other times through the year.

Rode my Harley to the store to pick up some things and when I got back to the bike I had to pick up some more----
Apparently some SOB had walked by and decided to have a little vandalism fun. Too bad I didn't catch them. Now to see if super glue will hold the big pieces together until I can get a replacement. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

I've often posted about my good friend 'Ski' who I've been friends with for over 35 years. We keep in touch and usually get together at least once a week. However if by chance I haven't called, emailed or dropped by for awhile he'll call to make sure that I'm not dead and the insects aren't making a feast of my decomposing body.
I was just there on Tuesday shooting pool and I was surprised to get a phone call from him this afternoon. We just chatted and finally he said he'd called because he'd read about a motorcycle wreck on a road near Waitsburg and I often ride those back roads just for Shites and Giggles.
Once he knew that it wasn't me he said he'd talk to me later.
You just can't keep good friends down! Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

That is very kind of your buddy. I get phone calls too from friends when they hear a fuel truck rolled over. As a matter of fact, I got a call from a friend today for that exact reason. It was a short truck, what we call Straight trucks, it was on its side in the middle of the Interstate. No idea why he rolled it but a full load of diesel was running down the road. That's gonna cost someone some big bucks!
