Whoa, I did not expect Spain to loose like this! And boy, what a header from van Persie. As I'm writing this Robben just made it 5-1. What a match!!!

Yeah. Mexico should have had 3 points. Again, IMO., but ref botched those both off-sides calls.
Go Australia!

James.
EDIT: If I am reading the Google summary properly, it's 27 minutes in and Chile have already scored 2 goals to none. Uh oh....Last edited by Jimbo; 06-13-2014 at 10:29 PM.

I usually hate soccer, but for the world series I make an exception for Belgium. This year is also the first time that the entire country seems to rally behind the team. We never used to do that at all, but this year the country is going slightly bananas with 'red devil' craziness. It's fun, I have to admit. And we do have a number of world class players.
I watched the match yesterday. The first half was just crap. Very slow, no guts. Second half was an amazing improvement and the game finally started happening.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Whoa! Pardon me for asking, but what on earth happened to Spain? Was it my imagination or did the passing and errant shots on goal by Spain just leave you

Wore my Orange football shorts for the game. Will wear them for the two games I'm coaching tomorrow.
So happy to see them do really well and defeat Spain. Spain's 1 point came on a pretty nothing foal, IMO.
It's hard to overestimate the impact of this match.
NOTE: The US/English announcers were terrible. One American sporting a fake English accent(I despise this) and a blowbag twit.
I'm completely tired of this apparent trend. I cannot tolerate hearing an American announcer trying to put on an English dialect and vocabulary(or any other accent). Makes me cringe.Last edited by Siguy; 06-13-2014 at 10:29 PM.

No kidding! I thought Spain would struggle to repeat as champions, but I didn't expect *anyone* to trounce them like that. It's nice to see the world of football can still provide us with some real surprises.
OK, the weekend has arrived - time to start enjoying the footie without the inconvenience of having to be at work during the day. After already missing a pile of matches, I have to say I'm pretty pleased that I'll be on vacation in the UK for the last could of weeks of the finals.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
