"When sufficient number of people want something it happens." Yes, but only as it is consistent with the law. Laws may be changed to meet the wants of the majority, but only through a purposely and relatively difficult process designed to prevent whimsical and factious disruption of civil society, as well as preventing tyranny against the minority.

The turmoil produced by Greek city state democracies ended up in the Peloponnesian war where Philip of Macedon ended up as the master enslaving them all. Not a great endorsement for direct democracy.

Furthermore, of those that we people consent to be governed by should, at least I think, be of good moral character, have sufficient wisdom to govern with right reason, and have at least a good working knowledge of the history, laws and the system under which they are to govern.

That being said, a person who belittles others at every opportunity, insults everyone who criticizes him, makes fun of others (especially disabled war veterans), has a lot to say about himself, is very easy with gutter talk, but appears to have little to say about the fundamental history or laws of the country for which he wants to be the federal chief executive,,,, that just doesn't get my vote.

Does Trump strop after shaving, or does he prefer to let his edge rest first?

The Republicans have been belittling our current president for the last 8 years. These guys are only candidates for office. Far worse is belittling the actual president because once the genie is out it will be done from now on no matter who the President is.

And the democrats belittled the last president for 8 years so get off that nonsense, and by the way my opinion of the presiding president being less than what he represented to us all does not make my grey matter dense , that's highly insulting, like maybe if should say all government employees were so dense they couldn't get a real job. Sorry, but you are wrong. No democrat shouted "You lie!" during one of Bush's State of the Union Addresses. The Democratic leader of the Senate did not call for making Bush a one-term president on Bush's inauguration day. There are many more instances of republicans disrespecting President Obama, while there are none of democrats disrespecting Bush.
