Unless the hoi polloi wake up, this will be the saddest election year for the Elephant since 1964.

I'm still thinking Trump is taking money from Billary, the White House is likely too gauche for the Donald, and anyway alot of the good furnishings got swiped in January 2001 .. Besides, it (being Prez) might resemble work more than being on a Reality (really) show on the Idiot Box, or speculating with daddy's money.

I can't wait for November 2nd, when all the actors will be on private jets headed someplace warm, we can only wish them to be one way jaunts to a particular place that's really warm ... and hope that this too shall pass

HEY WHATS WRONG WITH NEW YORKERS. If you don't like Trump thats fine don't vote for him. There are a few members here that live in N.Y.. Do you really want to insult us?

No insult intended for the everyday denizens of the Empire State whatsoever. They are some of the most open, obvious folk anywhere. Why, they are so liberal they even elect senators who haven't lived there to represent them ,

Agree but really thats only Manhattan. Most New Yorkers including myself are not. If you are ever in trouble a New Yorker would help you. While other people riot New yorkers don't. No school shootings in NY.. I am always amazed at the kindness and generosity of New Yorkers. I was born in the city, live in the suburbs and work for N.Y.C. . I am proud to be part of NY.

Here are some thoughts to throw out there as completely wacky as they sound:

All signs are pointing to a Republican Convention in which it's possible that the Republican "establishment" could chose a candidate who is neither Trump nor Cruz. A candidate not "chosen by the people". One could argue doing so would be political suicide for the Republican party in this election and secure an election for Clinton and as a result is therefore unlikely. I beg to differ.

The Republican "establishment" would much rather "work across the aisle" with their establishment Democrat counterparts in the Old Boys Club than contend with a rogue Trump or Cruz president. A Clinton presidency would be business as usual for the establishment. Throwing the election by selecting a candidate different than Trump or Cruz it could be argued, would benefit the Republican establishment more than a Trump or Cruz presidency would.

I won't go as far as to say the U.S. could be at a watershed moment in history where the two party system may end up disintegrating into, in effect, a one party state if the Republican establishment declares in its action of siding with Democrats by handing Clinton the presidency, but the outcome of the convention will be interesting.

I have thought that throwing the election isn't probable for the Republican establishment because it could mean political suicide for each Republican senator or congressman at the end of each individual's term; perhaps or perhaps not.

Maybe McCain and Palin will get thrown back into the mix!

Then again, how is Bob Dole doing?
