I tend to agree that most of the average people supporting Trump do feel this way. Unfortunately in order for the country to be hijacked by a "ruling class" it would have had to have been in possession of the general populous at some point. This has never been the case. It was never envisioned by the founding fathers. Alexander Hamilton stated that very clearly in the Federalist Paper 68 when he wrote

"It was desirable that the sense of the people should operate in the choice of the person to whom so important a trust was to be confided. This end will be answered by committing the right of making it, not to any pre-established body, but to men chosen by the people for the special purpose, and at the particular conjuncture.

It was equally desirable, that the immediate election should be made by men most capable of analyzing the qualities adapted to the station, and acting under circumstances favorable to deliberation, and to a judicious combination of all the reasons and inducements which were proper to govern their choice. A small number of persons, selected by their fellow-citizens from the general mass, will be most likely to possess the information and discernment requisite to such complicated investigations.

It was also peculiarly desirable to afford as little opportunity as possible to tumult and disorder. This evil was not least to be dreaded in the election of a magistrate, who was to have so important an agency in the administration of the government as the President of the United States. But the precautions which have been so happily concerted in the system under consideration, promise an effectual security against this mischief. The choice of SEVERAL, to form an intermediate body of electors, will be much less apt to convulse the community with any extraordinary or violent movements, than the choice of ONE who was himself to be the final object of the public wishes. And as the electors, chosen in each State, are to assemble and vote in the State in which they are chosen, this detached and divided situation will expose them much less to heats and ferments, which might be communicated from them to the people, than if they were all to be convened at one time, in one place."

Sounds like a blueprint for a ruling class to me.

Not 100% sure but based on Bernie's reported income I don't think he's close to a millionaire although that won't matter because what he says scares people. Real change always does. So the general electorate just dismiss him as a kook. Whewww!!! thank goodness we don't have to face any meaningful change because you know "change is so hard" WHAAAAA!!!!!!

When Madison, Hamilton and Jay wrote the Federalist Papers only property owners could vote. No women, no 18 year olds for sure. Change ? I'm 67 years old and this isn't the country I grew up in. Don't tell me about no changes. I remember when a man could have one job, support a wife and a couple of kids, house, car .... or two, and most stuff was Made In USA. Yeah, I know about change. BTW, somehow, Bernie, a guy taking his honeymoon in the Soviet Union, doesn't inspire confidence in me. Obviously YMMV. Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders Is a Millionaire

Yes I agree life is full of changes. Some good and some not depending on your point of view. Most are a result of actions by the "ruling class" installed by the general electorate. And this is where the hard work needs to begin. This is where the change has to happen and this is where most people stick their head in the sand because they just can't imagine a change of this magnitude let alone being part of it. It's so hard. And this is what the "ruling class" relies on to keep the status quo in place. You should enjoy this Jimmy. After all to use an old axiom from a time some people think was better than today "you reap what you sow".

Interesting article but frankly even if all the info is correct it would still put Bernie in a much lower wealth bracket than the top 1% he talks about. I'd be interested in why you would lose confidence in a person who has visited the Soviet Union on a vacation. I'm missing the rational. My Mileage Does Vary.

Oh, come on. Given how long he has been in Congress, if he weren't a millionaire he would have to have been some kind of idiot.

If you want your annual income taxed at about 40% Bernie is your man. If you are happy with the way things are going Killary is your woman. If you want something different Trump is your man. Like Monty Python use to say " now its time for something completely different".

Will be interesting to see tonight's results in KY and OR

KY is the one to watch, if Sanders wins both, it will be bad for the Clinton brand, but unless the Super Delegates peel away not much really in the way of a real difference..
