rlmnshvstr8 = "real men shave str8" - no spaces or vowels

Generally speaking I use "Milo" or some variation on that theme for most sites. Wanted a fresh start here and the other place, so I chose a nickname acquired during a week's vacation in Ottawa when I was 16. I have no idea how the guys that tagged me with "Orville" came to their decision, but it stuck for a short time, and now here it is again.

In the days between dialing into Bulletin Board Systems and hitting the early days of the internet. My friends and I were fans of the Highlander TV show.. one of the antagonists in an episode was named Kanwulf. I thought it sounded pretty good, but didn't realize it had a different spelling. Needless to say.. the incorrect spelling stuck.

Multi factorial really. I'm a physician and was a Naval Flight Surgeon for many years before transitioning to the ANG. Hence the Doc. Mo are the first letters of my surname. Also, while a flight surgeon I qualified to function as a ECMO on the EA-6B Prowler. Hence the real beginning of the name by contracting Doctor and ECMO or Docmo.

I was lucky enough to be a USMC regulation flight surgeon and served with VMAQ-4 and also flew with VMAQ-1, VMAQ-2 and VMAQ-3 as well. I have now gone over to the dark side and wear a USAF uniform now (they actually have airconditioned tents! Can you believe that?).

She may have been the flying drumstick but she was a damn fine aircraft. I think I shed a tear or two as they retired her airframe recently. The FA-18G's have taken over her watch now.

The Growler may be sexier, but man was that Prowler a rugged and reliable airframe!

Thanks to you as well sir, and to all those who have served and those currently serving.

Rather than scrolling through to see if I had already done this(I should be Dullblade ha ha) When I started wetshaving I always shaved at night so as not to rush through my shaving and get it right. Hence I sound now like a Marvel comic character .........Nightblade !! (I still like a quiet night shave too.)
