Motorcycle riders who take off from a stop sign/light and ride 1/2 a block with their feet not on the pegs....like they're going to just fall over!

I couldn't agree more!I take great pride on having my feet on the pegs before I move forward. Whenever I've gotten a different bike that's the first thing that I practice. The second is slow turnarounds in the street. I'd never done the third until I got my Harley and at Tc's advice I put a towel down and lowered the bike and practiced picking it up. Not as easy as it sounds. However the bike weighs about 700 lbs and it was well worth the practice.
This summer I'd gotten a motel room and went to get some eats when 3 guys on brand new Harleys started to pull into the motel. There was a slight rise to their parking lot and everyone of them 'walked' along with their bikes when they made the slow curve. I just shook my head--Rolex Riders For Sure! Little did they know that I got the last room/at least the last room that I could park my bike right outside the door. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Yep! I have practiced coming to a stop sign, making a complete stop & taking off w/o putting my feet on the ground. It takes practice but it can be done. I've done it many times but there were a few times where I leaned slightly one way or the other & had to put a foot down but I never laid it down doing it. More power to those who can do it.
