Thanked: 3228I don't want to see myself or anyone else get very sick and/or die. The fix is here in the form of vaccinating enough people to at least reach herd immunity. That will mean a huge reduction in serious illness and/or deaths.

No Glen, I don't believe that not getting vaccinated means i will die or kill someone. But i do believe that it's a possibility.
I am personally not afraid of death, but I can think of nicer ways to go and it would be good if I didn't take anyone with me.
I do understand that there might be long term side effects, I always said that but there comes a point when the benefits (to everyone) outway the risks.- - Steve

Boy I’ve been bored lately, so maybe I’m in the minority, I’m reading this thread every time I get on. No it’s not very informative or even fun. But I’m a very cranky combative guy so hey entertainment.
Listen, I don’t get political, I get to the point. I hated everything about this politically ran pandemic. Faucci has me not listening to doctors, politicians who don’t tell us truths. People die, some don’t. So in my opinion, get the shot, don’t get the shot, I hope it doesn’t bite me in the ass, but then again I really only care about a dozen or so guys here, so won’t get choked up no matter what happens to you all. This last year and a half may be just good old Mother Nature thinning the herd, not a guy who really believes in god, but the old earth herself can get rid of the problem, it’s happened before“ I,m getting the impression that everyone thinks I have TIME to fix their bikes”

Thanked: 3228Not being vaccinated means a few things.
You are far, far more likely to get infected and have a serious outcome. This is especially so where the Delta variant is the predominate strain. The majority of people in hospital/ICU/on ventilators and or dying are the people who have not been vaccinated. This is happening in areas of both high and low vaccination rates. The lower the vaccination rate in an area the higher the infection rate is. The higher the vaccination rate is in an area the lower that infection rate is.
People who have not been vaccinated are the predominant group of infected people. That being the case, they are far more likely to be where new variants spawn from. That goes on long enough and you could easily wind up with a variant that is resistant to the current effective vaccines. That would put everyone back to square one with the same risks as at the beginning of the pandemic. Should that happen you could quite literally contribute to killing someone.

Thanked: 13249I find this problematic...
"I do understand that there might be long term side effects, I always said that but there comes a point when the benefits ( to everyone) outway the risks."
Other than that I agree 100%
I do understand that there might be long term side effects, I always said that but there comes a point when the benefits outweigh the risks.
That is Medical Science, you weigh the good vs the bad and YOU decide, maybe with the help of your Dr
When you add the words to everybody that changes it for me, and you might not have meant it that way but that is exactly how I read it"No amount of money spent on a Stone can ever replace the value of the time it takes learning to use it properly"

That is some dangerous paranoia you are preaching, do you really believe that ???
Much of what you have posted in this thread makes way more sense if that is your belief system
You are heading down the road to real totalitarianism with this thinking, but fear is what has bred the same thinking in history."No amount of money spent on a Stone can ever replace the value of the time it takes learning to use it properly"

Thanked: 4207Glen, I think you are an upstanding guy, but Bobs reply isn’t paranoia.
All the statistics presented on mainstream media supports that the new cases reported daily goes down where vaccinations are high.
Every transfer of the virus or any virus it can mutate, so eventually it will be resistant to the current meds if allowed to keep being transmitted with high frequency.
That’s already the case with antibiotic resistance in germs and such as far as I understand."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."
