Ain't that the truth. I remember during the Cuban Missile Crisis the air raid sirens going off and if you lived close enough to the school you were allowed to run home otherwise you got the chance to die with your buddies at school and not at home. You should have seen the strain my mother was under because she lived through the terror bombing of Germany during the war and my dad got to see it from our side too. Literally none of my parents generation are left and us boomers are dying off now too. To me, anyone who contemplates the possibility of the spectre of a nuclear war as part of a gamble is off their rocker.
