Sage advice I've gotten as well.

Another one that has served me well is "Don't burn bridges, no matter how good it feels. It's a small world, and you never know when you might need to cross that bridge."

No really here is a real one.

When you are performing. "Don't be afraid of the audience or nervouse because they are there. They want to see you succeed and do your best, so relax take their good wishes and let it happen." From a mentor to help me with my performance anxiety.

From an industrial psychologist I knew many years ago:

"You're not really doing anyone a favor when you cut them a break".

The wisdom of that has shown itself over and over as I get older.

My brother-in-law tells me this quite often. It's not what you know, it's who you know.

"Weddings are a waste of money. A phonecall to tell me you're married will do just fine" - My mom

"Get off your @$$ and find a better job!" - My parents

"Check your oil every once in a while will ya" - My dad

"Don't smoke marijuana" - My grandma, gotta love her

"Don't screw the crew " - My sister...I told her I have a crush on my roommate
