I dunno, I thought he was the only good part of that movie. Sure, it has no plot whatsoever, but there sure were lots of bright colors and loud noises!

Seriously, though, the thing about him that I respect so much is not the movies he's in (he's been in some real stinkers) but the total transformation he undergoes from movie to movie. Unlike some actors who only portray themselves, he loses himself in each role he plays, to the point where it's almost hard to recognize him. That, to me, is the essence of good acting.

So true. Half the time I don't recognize him, even when I know he's in the movie. I just think "this actor is gonna be huge, he's awesome!", to which my Gary Oldman loving SWMBO will say "dork, that's Gary Oldman".

I would also consider putting Christian Bale in this same category. He is more easily recognized, granted but you cannot say he doesnt put his all into his movies. I'm thinking American Psycho and The Machinist. For the latter the guy lost 63lbs to play the lead! Since then he has kind of sold out to the Batman revivals which are nonetheless brilliant.

De Niro is another one who famously goes the extra mile to get into character. At least I think its him i'm meaning..... but I could go on like this all day. Back to the quiz....

I think it is Léon, made by Luc Besson - I love this one and couldn't recommand more: buy the DVD with the extended version!

I always thought it was just "the profssional" not "Leon the professional." Learn something new every day. http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1800227679/info

I've always just known it as 'Leon' but imdb suggests it has many, many names:

    Also Known As (AKA)

Leon Czech Republic / Finland / Slovakia Leon - Der Profi Austria / Germany Perfecto asesino, El Argentina / South America (Spanish title) Profissional, O Brazil / Portugal Leon zawodowiec Poland Leon, a profi Hungary Leon: The Professional UK Profesional (Léon), El Spain Professionnel, Le Canada (French title) Sevginin gücü Turkey (Turkish title) The Cleaner (undefined) The Professional USA
