It seems that subject of Israel brings up a very venomous reaction on your part. Yes, you are entitled to your opinion but could you please find a different forum for your political agenda.
Thank you

Chime. Heh I saw that they had København noted, Copenhagen, as a city there. But no scheduled event, nothing added on that page at all actually. And I wonder how it would go seeing as we have quite the unrest in that city atm due to second generation gangs being at war with Hells Angle people. They are shooting left and right searching people on the street and activly preventing the services that bring food out to the elderly from doing their job.
I hate criminals
This part is partially
It will always be the same most likely for any entity that is discernible from another, all the way from nation to nation down to neighbour to neighbour or even husband to wife often.
And it was part of my point. It's really not in the best interest of most to have areas with heavy instability. Partly due to all the human rights people blocking the streets and shouting poorly narrated slogans and also, but not only, due to things such as trade(money).
Nizdog who are you speaking to?Last edited by Chady; 03-04-2009 at 11:35 PM.

Thanked: 278I've been biting my tongue on this but I have to say it. How on earth can you expect organisers of an "Israeli Apartheid" Week to deliver an objective/unbiased viewpoint?
I've been to the website, and can see how they are trying to justify using the word Apartheid. But come on, be serious. It's a shameless attempt at using vocabulary to tar Israel with a "bad as the old South Africa" brush.
I'd prefer rational argument please.
EDIT> Oh, and in response to the "Apartheid Wall" concept and photos on that website, I will counter with this "proof" that the U.S.A. is an Apartheid country:

Ranj's picture for the click inhibited. Somewhere in those buildings sits my magefriend from WoW, cursing at me for breaking his sheep
.
And on a lighter note, one of the numerous great things brought about by the Israeli military.

Thanked: 271The Fourth Geneva Convention says that you cannot gain territory through war, so the historical analogies are no longer valid.
The venomous reaction is not coming from me. I simply posted that Apartheid Week was taking place and a link. Those who are not interested need not participate. In fact, the title of the post was very clear, so why did you even enter the thread?
Besides, why should only one point of view be represented and not all? If you want to suppress dissent and free discussion, then you are expressing authoritarian and anti-democratic opinions.

Thanked: 271Jimmy Carter wrote a book whose title does exactly that and for which he was roundly punished in the US media. He knew that there would be negative reaction to it, but he did it as a matter of principle, because he wanted to contribute to the discussion and solution of the problem. I am sorry for those of you who think that my posts are the problem, as if I personally created the Arab-Israeli conflict. Rather than look the problem in the face, all you want to do is distract attention away from the problem by "shooting the messenger". If I didn't post anything about the conflict in the Middle East, it would still be there. The US would still be funding Israel to the tune of some $3 billion a year and American weapons would still be used to kill defenseless civilians. All of these things are creating intense hatred of the US in the rest of the world (yes Virginia, there is a rest of the world) that will have effects on you and your children forgenerations. I have said this several times but it's worth repeating: if people can't discuss a problem, it can't be solved. If this problem can't be solved, sooner or later we're all going to pay the price.

Jimmy Carter is respected in this country for his expertise in raising peanuts but not much else. He was voted one of the worse presidents we ever put out. Isn't he retired yet? As far as Innocent civilians if someone came into my country and killed my family in a bus with a suicide bomb I am going to hit his house with his family in it and his whole block with phosphorus bombs. What is wrong with phosphorus bombs anyway. They do the job I want to do. The civilians are not innocent. They voted in the way they want to play the game and brought the wrath upon themselves.
