Thanked: 369How dare Joe Wilson blurt out the truth, especially while the President is lying. What nerve.
BTW, did Obama publicly apologize to Sergeant James Crowley for calling him "stupid" during a nationally broadcast press conference?
Maybe Joe Wilson should have just taken the Prez out for a beer.

Joe THE Wilson should have apologized for what he did.
But more importantly he was also wrong. The president clearly stated that illegal immigrants would not be covered in his Bill. Additionally the house bill clearly has a section called (to paraphrase) "Undocumented aliens will not be given any coverage" in capitalized letters.
Joe the Wilson !!! just what we need after Joe the Plumber - another retard to represent the people
It is rather unfortunate that the conservative party has become a caricature of it self since the Goldwater days. They should really listen to George Will rather than to Rush Bimbo Hannity Insanity.
Rather than debate costs and benefits and the real issues, we have people screaming and shouting like teenagers with too many hormones to spare - screaming things like "Death Panels" "Socialist" "Nazi" "Grandma Killers" "You Lie" "Drill Baby Drill" - can move to a little more intelligent debate please.

Bruno it is in the wording...
"They will not participate" I know this looks cut and dried to you on paper, but it really isn't, just like "Death Panels" will not be in the wording but they are there we all know better...
Certain things that we all know better about and any Dem that argues here honestly you are fooling yourself, look deep and you know better...
That Illegal Aliens will not benefit from this program - "We Know Better"
That cutting 500 million from Medicare/caid will somehow not cut benefits from Grandma & Grandpa and in effect cause "death panels" ie: you get this care / sorry you don't "We Know Better"
That this somehow will not effect the private insurance holder and that if you want you can keep the insurance you have "We Know Better"
That somehow this is not going to raise my personal taxes "I KNOW BETTER"
Now you all can show all this BS links to the contrary you want but really deep down "YOU KNOW BETTER"
And honestly if you don't know better than you deserve to reap what you sow and you are most likely on the receiving end of this and not on the paying end...
So in the end my message is the same:
Dear Mr Liberal:
Sorry pal but "We the American TAX PAYER, We Know Better"
Oh yeah to stay on Mark's topic yes he should apologize rude is rude even when it comes from the heart, even when other's have done worse, and disrespected the office even more... rude is rude...Last edited by gssixgun; 09-11-2009 at 05:06 PM.

Being right is not an excuse from manners. Most of us learned this as children. Whether I agree with you on this point or not, you will note, I am not being rude. It makes for a well ordered internet forum, a well ordered legislative body (oh my dear God, did I just call Congress "well ordered....I digress), and it makes for a well ordered society.

How is it any different than what we have today?
If an illegal immigrant goes to the emergency room, they get treated now. If you need a surgical procedure when you're 95 years old, the insurance company will determine whether or not it will be covered.
If you really think that there's a death panel waiting to determine your fate (which is complete nonsense), then keep your private "our interest is really your health, not our profits" insurance company. Don't mistake the addition of an affordable public option with governmental takeover of the entire health insurance industry.
This is how capitalism works. In 2008, FedEx's revenue was about $38B and UPS' was about $51.5B. We should get rid of the USPS because they're making it hard for the private competition.

Right on ! The Lee Atwater/Karl Rove strategy of setting up straw man hot button issues to avoid debating the issues. The pity is that the republicans are hoping to position themselves for the 2010 elections and cripple the Obama presidency rather than have a serious go at fixing the health care system. Politics as usual and if some of the American people do not have health care let them eat cake.
Joe who ? Before he disgraced himself and his state by disrespecting the office of the President who outside of a limited area in SC ever heard of him ? Now to the same people who believe that B/S about death panels and coverage for illegals he is a hero. It would be laughable if it wasn't so serious. Don't bother them with the facts, ideology trumps facts every time for some people.Last edited by JimmyHAD; 09-11-2009 at 05:29 PM.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 953It was out of line, so he shouldn't have done it and was right to apologize.
It's not however that important so the news should be paying more attention to things like why Obama isn't taking the lead on HC and what the specific ways are that both sides plan to cut waste.

I agree with VeeDub's first point and that's why I voted "Yes", he should apologize. IF Obama's statement is in fact, false, then as VeeDub stated, the rep in my opinion, has every right to say publicly at some latter point in time that Obama lied. Again IF the statement was proven false, then in no way shape or form would I think that the rep would/should apologize.
