I understand our new legislators plan on holding hearing in congress to debunk the whole global warming thing.
That's just what we need another Scopes Monkey Trial. We'll be the laughing stock of the world. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

I agree, but the bolded part is a bit of contradiction, at this point. I would like to see fossil fuel alternatives become more viable and cost effective, but they just aren't quite there yet (some less so than others). Innovation should drive improvements in technology and manufacturing which lowers costs, improves efficiency and generally increases viability....but it seems like more and more its lobbyists on both sides that drive the agenda without regard for reality.

Thanked: 267For my money nuclear is there if we had a commitment to use science to make the decision and not fear mongering by people that don't even know what makes fire. The others will follow but we need energy NOW! not later. I live in California where we have not built a power plant of any kind for 50 years because of people that want us to use bicycles and grow all our own food. Really pathetic!
Take Care,
Richard

I'll believe that there is a crisis when the people that tell me there is a crisis start acting like there is a crisis.
If people like Al Gore bulldozed his houses, set fire to his fleet of cars and his private jet and went and lived in a cave I might be concerned.
I really get annoyed at the rank hypocrisy of the so called preachers of doom.
James Cameron, the director reckons we should start living with less.
Like this is living with less?

As for the Earth getting warmer? Who knows. The climate has gone through alot of cycles without our assistance so I'd be more inclined to believe it's more natural than man created if it's happening.

Thanked: 240As I thought I made clear fox just represents another viewpoint, same as CNN and msnbc when you closed your mind to one viewpoint and focus only on another you lose all crediablity as you have not drawn your own conclusions instead choosing to parrot the points of others. This is just as true if you only watch fox news and dismiss anything presented by CNN or msnbc. They are all biased, true news reporting hasn't exsisted during my lifetime. I prefer to read my news as it is easier to detect the bias of individual writers.

It's them cows. All that methane they belch up into the atmosphere.
See, they know what we do to them and they're getting even by slowly poisoning us all. Soon it will be too late and they will be in charge. MoooNo matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 220I've noticed that the seasons are starting to advance on the calendar. This of course is not always the same in different areas.

Anthropogeninc global warming. I don't know. Scientists are split over how much influence man has changed the climate.
I wish our schools would be producing more hard science chem and physics students so we can actually solve energy problems, and develop better inovations and less political scientists.
Religion and politics+Science and politics=many charlatans and their followers.
One fact we can not ignore is that we are in the sunset of this global warming period and they were all puncuated with accelerated warming.
Intergalcial periods are shorter in geoligical time compared to ice ages.
Relax, enjoy the balmy weather while it lasts. Facts are facts, and many charlatans exploit science. Some for wicked reasons, some because they "believe" in the arguments.

Based on the fact that we in Norway last year had the coldest winter in 60+ years, I say Global Warming... humbug.
