Default The most important thread of 2009

So it has been a year since our last discussion on a related subject so I think we all have had time to reflect and are ready for the next challenge.

The question is, of course about one of the most essential items, toilet paper.

I am well aware that some of you are unable to face the challenge and take the easy way by picking a very pedestrian variety, but for the rest of us, the TP connoseurs the question remains, which side to use for business the one with the bumps or the one with the dimples:

Of course, which side is which is unambiguously determined by the ratio of the surface in the different planes, with the exception of that special 'flip-flop' design where both sides are the same. However the question of functional use of each side is the one at hand.

Please vote in the poll and elaborate on your choice in the thread below.

Bumps. For the same reason Brillo pads are rough. Helps get things clean.

Gugi, you've done it again! A most sensitive issue for sure. I prefer the dimpled over the possible "abrasive action" of the "bumps". I wince at the thought.

You need to explain your reasoning further, some Brillo pads actually have dimples....

Well then... In a very painful analogy...

Sandpaper. It smoothes and cleans the surface of wood. And as far as I know... No dimples. You wouldn't use a cheese grater on wood, would you? No. So dimples are bad, like a cheese grater.

I like cottonelle with the ripples. The ripples offer a vastly superior cleaning technology.

I am going with other. Here is why.

I had one of my kids potty training and it was easier to use the Cottonelle moist wipes to help them get and stay clean.

We sorta adopted them as the norm and supplement to normal TP.

    I highly recommend these.
