Ninety miles per hr on a '68 Harley 900 XLH Sportster. It could have gone faster but I backed off. I never was comfortable at high speed. Walking I-beams 750 feet in the air yeah but close to 100 miles an hour was not for me.

I've got you guys beat. A friend and I Downhilled our skateboards in heavy traffic down Wisconsin Ave NW, through Georgetown. That hill is huge to take without a car in sight, let alone the 5pm rush. There was NO slowing or stopping for a half mile. It must have looked right out of the movie Gleaming The Cube.

I got my first car up to 155km/h (about 100mph - speed limit here is 100km/h or a little over 60mph). Not bad for a Renault 5 hatchback from the 80s.

Jimmy, I agree with you on the motorcycle. 90 on that was scarier than being in the fastest car. My dad was an ironworker, but you guys that did that have nerves of steel, my friend. I helped put up a couple of 1 story structures, and even one 2 story and I was hugging those I-beams... I don't know if I could ever get over that fear of falling.

And, yes, my dad called me a "Nancy"

you are so right about the I-beams...if i am gonna be that high, it had better have wings and a good working motor attached..i was asked to jump when i was in the military and i could not understand the concept of jumping out of a properly operating aircraft.(besides i never was any good at remembering indians names anyway)

As I'm sure your dad must have told you, it is not the fall, but the sudden stop that gets you.

Yeah, he had a friend fall on a job, his brother was run over and knocked off a building by a crane (I think) operator who was tired of the "beeping" sound when he backed up (now there is no "off" switch for that little irritating safety feature), and he fell into an elevator shaft (luckily he was able to spread eagle and catch himself)... 1/3 survival rate was enough, needless to say, to steer me far away from ironwork

In 1991 I had a red 1984 Nissan 300ZX, the first year after the 280ZX. Let it suffice to say it was a ticket magnet. I passed a New Jersey State Trooper at 75mph going in the opposite direction. I threw an egg out the window and it splattered all over his windshield somewhere in Hopatcong, NJ. About 3 seconds later the lights came on. I closed the window, hit Interstate 80 and I pinned the speedo on the way to my exit. I hit the exit and went home on back roads, pinning it there, too. It pegs at 145mph. I think I saw him about two miles away when I turned onto a different road to get home. I made it home easily. Best adrenaline rush I've ever had! I miss that car, it was a regular chick magnet, too.

I haven't been over 90 since. Driving from Vegas to anywhere in California at 90mph isn't uncommon. I'm getting too old for trouble anymore

Let's just say I pretty much obey the law these days

    Cool

Speed freaks - freakin' nuts. My oldest brother (who will get out of prison this time, supposedly in 2015) was/is one, I seen him do stupid stuff, if and when I was with him I would just try to relax and hope that the Lord would protect us, one of the toys was an '80 Monte Carlo - light weight body - with a 350 4-bolt main from a Chevy truck, he passed up his exit on IH-10 close to San Antonio one night with a couple of us who had all been drinking as usual back then stopped put it in reverse and floored it, going backwards down the interstate at night with the peddle floored now that's some damn good driving skills. He messed it up in a push-a-thon (if you know what that is) at Canyon Lake against an older and very heavy Delta 88, smashed the grill crumpled the hood. Retards. Gotta show-off, gotta get that rush. At least I'm sure that some of you eventually realized that the Lord was protecting you.
