Thanked: 431It can seem kinda funny, can't it? Probly even harder to admit. The real trouble comes when a person rejects Him to some point (which is different for everyone it would seem) and He gets fed up with getting the finger and just seems to take His hands off of things and say "Ok, I'll sit back and watch the show, you perform.". I'll bet that Scott somewhat realizes that, of course you saw the pics of his Corvette. Our dad was another one, he had a '62 red Corvette convertible that he use to race in upstate Washington, he got a couple of silver bowls and plates doing that, but he ran it into a telephone pole and totalled it when stationed in Hawaii and like Scott walked away without a scratch, then in '75 there was a freak accident where he rolled our '72 Blazer end over end and walked away without a scratch, and a couple of other minor ones - without a scratch. And he was good, like many want to think that they are just 'that good', but I know that he didn't believe that.

So many years ago i had '69 Monaco with tuned 440 cid. It was very fast, speedometer was MPH so i do not remember how much exactly i tried with it; there was not so much traffic control on those days.
I've done about 220 kmh with tuned Suzuki GSXR 1100 '87. Mostly on speed track, but had to try few times on a highway too. Actually i'm not sure what i had in mind, propably not much.
Nowadays i have no hurry getting somewhere with my Bandit.
A friend of mine tried to pass a civilian police Saab with his heavily tuned Firebird, and was really surprised because he couldn't leave that Saab behind. The radar had showed him doing 250 kmh at some point, and the first thing police said before taking away his license was 'Do you think you are some f...cking Knight rider?''That is what i do. I drink and i know things'

It's quite common for the fast lane of our motorways to sit at around 100mph. (limit is 70).
Fastest I've driven is 145mph. It felt fast in the 3 series BMW i was driving. A mate had a 5 series that had 5 of us & full luggage in it. The speedo was reading 155mph. It all feels so in control, till someone pulls out in front of you!
As i've got older i tend to keep things around 90. You feel like you're making progress, but it's not a silly speed.

Thanked: 116Every morning I hit 140mph just before the border on the morning commute to work. The fastest I have done to date was 170mph... having a stretch of unlimited Autobahn on the way to work is a pleasure.

Fastest I did was120 mph on the German autobahn.
Mind you, I still had to fall back to middle lane every couple of minutes to let the Porches, Mercs and Beamers throughTil shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

I got just past 110 on my modified Harley and still had a little throttle left when I realized just how very stupid I was being with a wife and two kids dependent on me and cranked it back down. I've always liked "hot" vehicles, but I was never into top-end, balls-to-the-walls speed. I was more into stop-light drag racing. One of my favorite vehicles was an old souped-up camaro "sleeper." It looked like a piece of junk on the outside, but underneath it was, essentially, a Corvette engine and drive train. Needless to say, I had a lot of fun with that car. Unfortunately, I had to it up when the price of gasoline got so high. Now, I drive a Toyota Corolla -- sigh.

Back in my high school days on a trip up north with the buddies we spent most of the driving time on the upside of a hundred no idea how fast really as the speedo only went to 90 and was just sitting on the post ticking for most of the trip. my buddy was driving when he hit a patch of black ice and did a 720+ through the other side of th interstae fortunatly we had our gaurdian angles with us as we threaded through traffic while spinning and never hit anything or even damaged the finish on my car.

Thanked: 234Approx 150mph. I see tripple figures fairly regularly, but I would need something that goes a hell of a lot faster than 150 to tempt me to get up past that speed, otherwise it just wouldn't be worth the risk of getting caught.
