Few years ago there was a local great thinker: He was about to have a party in his summer villa and instead of giving his friends the address and/or driving instructions how to get there, he decided to put a tank video camera to his bike, and then he taped how he did full speed from his home to that villa, and put the tape into internet. There was much traffic on the road and every now and then this dude did over 230 kmh. There's no need to mention that his house and the city was easy to regognise from that tape.
It was very easy for the cops to pick him from his home few days later
Edit:
Found the scene from YouTube

Might not seem like much but, on a rickety old, ten speed bicycle I once did 60kph (≃35mph) down Rue St. Urbain in Montréal during rush hour between the traffic and parked cars without a stop for 3k. That's about a metre (≃1yard) clearance. I was late for rehearsal. As I was locking up the bike I realised it would have been better to show up five minutes later than risk not showing up at all.

X, when I had my bicycle accident I was on a 12 speed mountain bike. They estimated my speed at 40 mph, I flew/rolled 25 feet from point of impact. (I hit a road sign after being blinded by oncoming headlights)
The fastest I've ever driven was 120 trying to chase down a semi that had had a piece of cardboard come loose and break the bug guard on my pickup.

Fastest I've gone is about 90 to 95 mph, that was on my sled. It wasn't very daring though as it was in a long flat field.

My last car was a 2001 Corvette. Fastest I ever got it was to about 110mph on the AC Expressway.

Back in my youth, I had a new (to me) Nissan 240SX that I was driving on I-20 from Atlanta to Birmingham. Somewhere after the state line, a blonde passed me in the exact same car (color, model, and year) with the windows down and her hair blowing. Naturally, I caught up to her to wave hello, and we drove side-by-side on the relatively deserted interstate at about 120mph for a good half-hour before she caught an off-ramp and left me to proceed alone, sadly, back to school.

130 in a run-of-the-mill stock Honda sedan. It was already falling apart due to age, miles, wear, and tear at that time. As the car sped up, it sounded and felt like those old Star Trek episodes where the ship would shake, scare the passengers, and cause Scotty to yell out the next number in the warp count
For whatever reason back then, I did not like to ever be passed especially on the open road. I've since become a sane driver
