As an adult:
2009: 140 in a Porsche 911 Cabrio with the top down. It was very, very fun.
2008: 130mph in a Ferrari 430 spider. Would probably have gotten her up a little faster, but a young man on a sport bike came within INCHES (probably single digit inches) from the front of the car, and nearly put himself into a ditch being a smart-a$$, that freaked me out and I slowed down. We were very very lucky.
As a young man of 21, about 95 mph on a small, dark road in upstate NY, in a Pontaic Sunfire...wound up slaloming through a few deer (with a BIT of skill, but mostly luck), not hitting any by the Grace of God, and putting the car into a pretty cool (and mostly lucky, not skillful) sideways stop as my passenger screamed like a banshee. Man was he embarassed afterwards. Me too. I am very, very lucky.
As a teenager, around 1989 or so, in a, uh, borrowed BMW sedan, I was well over 100, on a strech of highway known to have a police presence. Passed a LEO, saw the lights come on, took the next exit, which I knew very well, and lost him by not bleeding off much speed nor caring about my safety, the lives of my passengers or the public. We all should have become statistics and I should ahve gone to jail that night. I tried to become a more responsible driver after that. I am very, very lucky.

Once I drove a Honda civic from Philadelphia, PA to Atlanta, GA in just under 8 hours ... and I stopped twice to eat.
That's about an 800 mile run without incident.
After that road trip, I retired the Honda for something with a bit more pep ... lol.

I got my Z4 up to 135mph on the way down to Southampton a while back. There was a very clear bit of motorway so I just went for it..!
As a passenger I've been up to about 170mph on an old section of the A3. That was in a McLaren F1. I was lucky enough to know someone who worked there so he took me and a mate out for a burn...!
I really get a kick out of acceleration though! My car has a 3 litre in-line 6 cyclinder and coz the car weighs about 250 grams the 0-60 time is 5.5 seconds...! I do enjoy it I must admit...! Hehe! That and getting stuck into the twisty bits! Loads of fun!

My neighbor's son parked his $120,000 Maserati in front of my house for several days. I was told it would do almost 200mph.

My neighborhood is not that great by a long shot. We asked him why he didn't park it in the garage. He said not to worry, it's insured.

Thanked: 234My neighbours brother has parked his ferrari, which he stacked into a hedge, a lambo, which he sold to buy his yellow F430 spyder which is a very, very pretty car. I've seen that car parked half on the pavement with the roof off for hours.
We don't live in a particularly busy estate, but I still would have had the roof up I reckon lol

I like this thread. Fun reading. I've already posted an old skateboarding story of mine but here are some more stats of mine:
Skateboard: 30 mph
Snowboard: 65 mph
Sled/ snowmobile: 95 mph
Honda cbr 600 (moterbike): 140 mph
I'll never get on a bike again, let lone go anywhere near that speed again. Been there, done that.
