We've known each other sence '83, got married in '91. No plans on changing that status

It's even better than that. If you take out those over 25 and never married, the percentage of "married to first spouse" is almost 74%... Pretty impressive

This is a rather interesting thread, I have been reading all the posts as they come up...
I had a feeling that we were a rather odd bunch in general, but looking at 60+% of long term first marriages I didn't realize that we would be almost opposite of the US avg... I am not sure of other countries averages for Marriages but IIRC the stats for the US are just under 60% of marriages end in divorce

We had a couple of difficult years that came with the pregnancies and the realities of looking after babies. That was difficult. First marriage for both of us. Dated 3 years first. I proposed on the 3rd anniversary of our meeting. I planned on proposing in the garden, but had to improvise due to torrential rainfall the entire day.
Married 17 years this past February & still in love. Have two fantastic kids!

My wife and I have been together for 5 years, married for 1 year this September, and have known each other for nearly 15 years.
However, all that might change if I keep buying (in her words) "more shaving stuff".......
