    I like your thinking

I forgot, one of my favourites is the french toast and bacon served at the little cafe up the street from me where the lovely young waitress who always smiles and chats to ya works...

Hmmm on further thought that might likely be the reason I go there but the food is awesome to

Port wine cheese spread on a ritz cracker

Smoked cheese of any kind served along with some sweet hot mustard

1 slice of bread with peanut butter, folded, then dipped in spaghetti sauce (I don't know why, but I love this)

Fire Roasted Red peppers, drizzled with balsamic vinegar on a sesame cracker

Smoked tuna rolled in sesame seeds (medium rare) with a wasabe/ginger/soy dipping sauce.

    Jack Daniels Chocolate Pecan pie

Key lime pie plain or dipped in chocolate

    Peanut butter and chocolate anything

Polenta mixed with spaghetti sauce and peanut butter (I know, weird).

2 slices of bread, couple slices of turkey, dash of Franks Hot Sauces, bleu cheese dressing, bacon.

Dark chocolate along a glass of scotch.

Unfiltered wheat beer with a slice of lemon

    I think i'll stop here...

I'm not much of a snack man, but there is one exception. Traditional rye snacks that are very easy to make at home. Some local restaurants have these as starters, but they work as snacks as well. Usually when ladies have their lady evenings they make these snacks and enjoy with beer, wine, herb liqueur or vodka. I prefer them with beer or as starters.

Here's the recipe. The ingredients might sound conflicting, but the result is better than you ever could imagine.

Take a traditional rye bread. It has to be baked almost black; light brown wont do. Slice it into pieces of about 1x1x5 cm (about the size of a French fries).
Put pieces into pan. Fry with mild heat with butter and garlic. Add salt every now and then. Little too much is better than not enough. When pieces are crispy, take away from the pan an let cool down into room temp. Now they are ready, almost.
As you start to eat, put some natural (liquid) honey into small bowl. Dip the bread pieces into honey and eat. Delicious.

    Pickled herring on Ritz crackers.

Olive & Sinclair Southern Artisan (small batch) coffee bean chocolate.

Muddy Pond brand sorghum on my wife's fresh sourdough bread.

My own home canned Blackberry/Raspberry jam on the same sourdough.
