I agree about Balsillie. Never mind all the other idiocy that goes with him, but he looked like a total boob in that jersey he wore for the team he was proposing.

I believe the NHL would like to add two more teams to the league, rather then move teams around, however now probably isn't the time and they'll face obstacles when they do go to do it.

As for some possible cities, the one I see a problem with is Quebec. I think that city faces more obstacles than most. Small sports market, players not wanting to play there for various reasons (marketability, French speaking) etc. One of the variables they faced over other Canadian teams at the time was their revenue was obviously in Canadian dollars but their payroll to the players was in US dollars. With a smaller fanbase that made a big difference.

Quebec city wouldn't be missing the fans, they're missing big company money to buy corporate booths and pump money in the team through sponsorship. The people living there are mostly people working for the governement. It was a big problem when they had a team, and it's the same thing now. I sincerely hope they do get a team, I was too young to live the crazy rivalry between Montreal & Quebec and I'd love to see that again.

    Back to hockey,

    CANADIEN'S WON !!!!

    BOOYAH !

What a weird game though. I don't remember seeing the puck bouncing so much on the ice before. Was there an recent even at the Garden ? The ice looked BAD.

Anyways, this game means nothing, both teams played a weird game, everyone looked terribly nervous. I can't wait until next game.

It looked to me like there was a lot of standing around in the offensive zone, particularly by the Bruins. They seemed content to mostly lob long shots at Price. Montreal caught Boston flat-footed a few times, and almost made them pay. Price did play very well.

Thread hijacked for the better. I love hockey discussions with people who know the game.

This is going to be a really great playoff season even with the absence of many great players, Sid, Malkin, Callahan, etc.

100 % agreed. Can I change the title of the thread to include something about hockey-talk ??

The Bruins made Price's life easy. Shame on them.

I think perhaps a moderator can do it for you, but for me, the title is perfect! It just screams Hockey. I didn't know any other sport had Playoff Beards - well, I think I saw a couple in the NFL last season.

If you don't mind the direction the discussion has taken, and we can make notes on what razor everyone is using to terminate their playoff beard, it's all cool, isn't it??
