I don't know much about the matter. I'm not sure that Bin Laden is dead: no body, no even photo of the body. Just words and we have heard a lot of terrorism talking in recent years. Probably it is a touch up. Bin Laden and his successor - good advantage for politicians. One can steal federal money and explain it that he spent it for untiterrorism, one can start a war or even third world war with a slogan "against terrorism". And nobody cares, that he only want to steal oil and money from budget. I'm sure in one thing, Bin Laden's successor will come very soon. Politicians need him and waiting for him.

My additional 2 cents:
Instead of referring to the action of killing Bin Laden as "justice" being served, I just wish Obama would call it, IMO, what it is: vengeance. I don't think calling it what it is would make a lick of difference to the majority of the American people. Maybe I'm just a stickler for rhetoric, but calling it "justice" seems to raise an assertion that the action was justified when I don't think the majority of the world is asking for justification.
venge·ance
[ven-juhns] Show IPA
–noun
1.
infliction of injury, harm, humiliation, or the like, on a person by another who has been harmed by that person; violent revenge:
Just call it what it is and go with it. Why the need to call it "justice" and in doing so, place some sort of emphasis on the action also being appropriate on a moral level? Why does morality seem to necessitate being a driving force behind the action?
Another case in point: "Enhanced Interrogation Techniques". Why not call it what it is? Torture. Own up and man up rather than cover up or gloss over.
Appropriate semantics and terminology matter and are very real dangers if used to purposely mislead and hide behind. "Ethnic Cleansing" sounds so innocuous, doesn't it?

If we're going to argue the semantics, you have a point.
Though one could argue that as the head of a terrorist organization, there were enough rational / right reasons for taking him out. Thus other words may apply as well, and may supersede 'vengenace'.
Btw, both vengeance and justice may apply at the same time.
Kinda like the death penalty, which is defeinitly more painful than it could be.
Or for example, if I know someone is cheating on his taxes, and I turn him in because he did something to me, isn't it both justice and vengeance at the same time?Last edited by Bruno; 05-06-2011 at 05:31 AM.

Glad that they got the guy buy far...but there has got to be more going on than that.

whatever it was im happy we did it, and as far as the death penatly i vote for the cheapest way out a rope and a tree, i say let them suffer for a few mins while they die they made the choice to kill or rape and i say let them have a few mins of pain while (justice) is served.
