    The book was even creepier/weirder.

Another one in the fine Vegas genre: "Showgirls". I particularly liked Sigurney Weaver in "Half Moon Street".

Except for resurrection and the standard cinema cut of alien 3. the studio killed that film.

Looking forward to the new ridley scott film, called prometheus at the moment. was supposed to be an alien prequel, but has changed now for some reason. although apparently it's set in the same film universe. Ridley was always more interested in the space jockeys than the xenomorphs

The greatest war film ever made, A Bridge too Far, with every major actor of the 70's british and american.

The second greatest was film of all time, which got overshadowed by saving private ryan as it was released at the same time and wasn't as instantly gratifying, The Thin Red Line.

    Zombieland.

The life aquatic with steve zissou

    The descent

    The thing

Any bourne film (thank god for bourne because the james bond franchise had to get better after that)

    Ring (the original japanese)

    The Wrestler

Eagle vs Shark (you need a really leftfield sense of humour)

    Zulu

    Jaws

    Bullitt

    Dune

    Little Miss sunshine

    Battle Royale

Black Dynamite (seriously, you have to watch this)

    Trainspotting

The Godfather. The style of the era the film is set in (1940's) would appeal to most straight razor shavers, I think. Plus it's an amazing movie. Godfather II is good, too. III? fugeddaboudit.

If you want a lot of unrealistic explosions, shootings, beatings and at the last scene the bad guy falls from the rooftop or dies in the huge nuke blast, then go for mainstream Hollywood movies.
If you want more real life and something to thing about, then search for European movies.

Last film i watched was 'True grit' from Coen bros. That was hilarious. Highly recommended.

If you haven't already seen it, I would highly recommend the HBO series "Band of Brothers".

The Godfather- Probably the greatest movie of all time--IMHO
    Dr. Zhivago
    Papillon
    The Deer Hunter
One Day In September-Documentary, possibly the best made--IMHO
    Cool Hand Luke
    Ronin
    The Book of Eli
    True Grit-Original
    Slum Dog Millionaire
Casino Royale, then watch Quantum of Solice
    Shane
    Man On Wire-Documentary
    Donnie Brasco
    The Great Escape
    Public Enemies
    The French Connection
    Eastern Promises
    Blade Runner
    The Fighter-with Christian Bale
    Heat
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

Basically, anything with some good old fashioned violence.
