Sorry, but I'm really starting to think that you start all these inflammatory threads solely to get a rise out of people. If it was purely to start a constructive dialogue there wouldn't be all the, um, colourful adjectives....

Tend to agree with Mr Ryan. A discussion should be just that 'a discussion'.

With the elections getting closer, it is worth mentioning that this is a discussion forum, for having a discussion. This is not a propaganda billboard. So unless you feel like starting an actual discussion, don't start threads just to let the world know your view on the political landscape.

This is a huge Tea Party win. I don't think anyone realizes how powerful this grass roots movement is except maybe the Democrats. Certainly the Republicans don't get it.
Apparently the unions haven't gotten the message that enough is enough. There is a nasty fight going on right now between the unions and American Airlines right here in Dallas.
People need to start really educating themselves on their candidates. Find out what they do and ignore what they say. This is your duty as an American.
If you don't, you deserve the government you get.
Bruno, I ALWAYS want discussion. People need to argue the _issues_ and stop believing the laundered "truth" handed out by the government owned media. The way the media passes out talking points you would think is was all thought up by Pravda.

If I had all the money the Rightees threw into this I could have gotten a Chimpanzee elected Governor.

I don't mind discussion. But the thread starter should have started a discussion, not just thrown stuff up here to display a political agenda.
A discussion is something in which viewpoints are presented, rational arguments are made, and data presented.
Just posting drive-by propaganda is not conductive to having a discussion.
And fwiw, I do think it is a bit childish to include Hussein as the middle name, just to associate him with the other one.
It wasn't necessary with George Walker Bush either.
That kind of stuff is the same as the right wingers putting up posters, stating 'the unabomber believes in global warming, do you?' I didn't even believe this was real, but apparently I was wrong and such posters really exist.
That kind of politics has no place here.

Has there been some kind of time warp that I was not aware of? The constant, strident, fear mongering braying of the Right at this point seems to be far more appropriate to the beer halls of Munich circa 1930s. Doesn't seem like a lot of room for discussing anything. What would be the point?

Without question $45.6 million is a pile of money but I've read estimates north of $1 Billion for Obama's 2008 campaign. Call me crazy but in my little corner of the universe, this means that lots of people dug deep to help Governor Walker stay in office. My logical progression of this is that he must have done a good job thus far, or at least produced some results that 53% of the electorate in Wisconsin approved of and wanted to continue. At the end of the day in an election isn't that what it's all about?
By contrast Mr. Obama's fund raising events seem to be falling well shy of the mark. His approval ratings continue to plummet and even Bubba Clinton is poopin on him. Like I said gentlemen, turn out the lights.
