Not Drones, but we have copter flybys everyday in my hood, are looking for maryjuana growers (the Killer weed).
Made a bust just last week not 300 yrds from my house,10 plants, had the copter and at least 50 DEA guys in full battle gear swarming all over the place.
We are fortunate,In most of Europe they would not be able to spend maybe 50 grand to locate and eradicate 10 plants.
    God bless Amerika.

    - observation of areas around fires to observe whether is is going to spread or not.
    - observation of car chases. this is a lot safer and more effective than car chases. IF the chase cars stay back, the one being chased drives less recklessly, and the cops can just pick him up when he reaches whichever destination he is going for.
    - helping in finding missing persons, primarily people with mental problems who have walked away from their home.
    - finding escapees.
    - helping reroute traffic after large accidents or road construction works.
    - rescue of people from inconvenient places.

and a couple of things more, all related or similar to the above.
helicopters are in the air throughout the days for these things.
for a good number of things, drones would be able to fulfill the same role. With the lower weight and lighter construction, they'd use a lot less fuel and be cheaper to operate (no pilots).

While drones can also be used for other, privacy invading purposes, the fact that drones are in the air does not have to be a plot from and evil government.
Absolutley, 100% true, Thank You Bruno.
If technology can help find a missing child or prevent a natural disaster from getting worse, then fill the skys with them.

I'll guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Doubting Thomas that I am, I see no real good for the people coming out of a fleet of government drones.

Houston PD is talking ARMED drones. They could shoot back.

However, I'm SURE that there would NEVER be a case where a drone fired on the wrong people...

Coming to you "in the near future".
Caution! Some less than desirable language.

I don't know much about guns, but I've been told that Belgium makes some high quality stuff.
Some older stuff is reportedly very bad. The 9 mm GP used by our police is very inaccurate and has quite a kick.
Without modifications it is a useless gun beyond short distance.

Pot is not strictly legal here. It's kind of a grey area.
It varies significantly over the various European countries.
In Belgium you can have small amounts for personal use in private.
You can also have a weed plant.

Generally, the police is not interested unless they can catch a big shipment. Small stuff is just left alone. Posession is not a criminal offense either as long as you are not trafficking. Can't say I am pro-drugs. Not by a long shot, but I agree with the government that there are more important problems than to run a witch hunt against small time pot users.

The Browning HP is also known as the GP, same pistol. The Canadian, made by Inglis, HPs were as accurate as most service pistols I have shot. FN Herstal had a very good reputation for producing quality arms back when I was shooting.
