As did just about every other manually operated rifle ever issued.

Yes, during the "ban" they also limited Mag capacity on auto rifles to 5 I think? I have a "ban" years SKS . Sure, they blanked that dangerous bayonet lug and put a sporterized stock on. Instead of the original 10 round stripper clip mag, they modded it and put on a 5 round clip. "Hunting rifle" Smart move as the 5 round AK clip pops off and a 20, 40, 50 round AK clip goes right on. Even a Chinese 75 round drum fits with a tiny bit of stock clearancing.
As long as there are guns, there will be ways to increase firepower, IMO. Always been that way, from spears to atomic weapons. Folks can kill in many ways and will if so inclined. I like to try and match the bad guys best I can. JMHO

That was after he ran out of ammo during a particularly long stretch of rapid fire. Too bad "ol Betsy" didn't have a bayonet lug. If it had, the Texans would most likely have carried the day......

No doubt in my mind, that back in the day of this rifle, there were some people who did not believe in them and thought that they should be banned as well.

Ahh, but can someone not be "bad" in an (un)ethical sense in the absence of any laws?

Same feller who frequently had his followers wipe out entire clans/nationalities and endoresed the killing of women, children, and the livestock in addition to the men and warriors? Same guy who had a group of warriors collecting the foreskins of the Philistines?

Clearly a big proponent of "rights."

I bet if those Philistines would have had a few AK's, they would have kept their foreskins.

I can't believe this thread is still running so hot. Glad I poked my head in again. I really want one of them old timey muskets with a bayonet now. Wonder if I can have one retro-fitted to a Kentucky rifle?!...
