Please excuse my ignorance, but what exactly are the Kenesaw,GA laws you refer to? It's an honest question.

Here you go: Gun Ownership Mandatory in Kennesaw, Georgia .
Basically this C&P: "In 1982, Kennesaw Georgia passed a law requiring heads of households to keep at least one firearm in their home, exempting those with criminal records or religious objections."

Thanked: 1160I remember both my step dad from Gloasgow(RIP) and another fellow who was a local security guard at my grocery store also from the same town as my dad and former SAS,telling me about the razor gangs in Knightswood. If I was going to kick it,I would rather get shot than sliced up by my favorite shaving instrument. The SAS fellow told me how the women would carry double can openers one for each hand and use them as claws basically. He also showed me a scar he had form a hatchet wound ,one of 30 scars from gang fights. The SAS fella was in one of those razor gangs as a younger kid .

I've tried to stay out of this conversation because it is not really something i'm interested.
But i cannot agree about that human nature thing. If it were so, then the crime rates would be equal all over the globe. Also i do not think that comparing times of peace into war would be fair.
I just guess it is impossible for some of you to even agree whether you have problem or not. For those who think that you have, maybe you should figure out if there's anything to do to make your country better.
I'm with Pithor. I think you have a problem and i'm glad it is not here.
We, like any country, have problems, but very different here. Something should be done but there are different threads and different web sites for that.

Thanked: 79Perhaps you should get out a little more? St. Helens and its surroundings are in many ways, including the availability of illicit drugs, not necessarily representative of the UK, let alone the rest of the world. I hear that Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham are recently considered serious drug problem areas (which would seem to indicate fairly high availability): Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham becoming 'no-go areas' because of drugs gangs... just like Mexico and Brazil | Mail Online. Don't even get me started on London...
Whether on guns or drugs, your comments indicate a certain naïveté and ignorance of the realities in parts of the world where some of us live, work or travel through. You certainly don't need to agree with everyone else's point of view, but I do hope that you can consider and learn something from them. If I lived in St. Helens, I might feel the same way about guns as you do. If you spent some time in the Bronx, South Oakland, Compton, East LA, and other unsavory neighborhoods in the US, or drove hundreds of miles down deserted highways, stopping in godforsaken villages for gas and coffee late at night, you might, no, you definitely would feel very different about the need for personal protection. America is a very different place from Europe, and we're all crazy here, but not all in a bad way...
