There's some truth to that. I've seen plenty of knuckle-heads who had been gut shot multiple times, to the point of requiring a colostomy bag, still rolling around in a wheelchair, or even walking. I've known Officers who've been shot once and died. Unreal...

    More than you think.

Take your pic of any of multiple youtube vids of Knob Creek, KY's annual shootem up. There is also a big one in OK and another in AZ. There is a sizable number of legally owned fully automatic stuff out there, and probably even more that isn't legal, but is just waiting for "that" day that it may be needed. I'm NOT referring to any of the "gangsta" stuff in the previous statement.

I happen to know someone very close to me who has tried and true parts for two AR's for 3-shot burst. Anyone can own the parts or the gun, just not have both on the same property unless it's registered & you have paid the appropriate taxes.

Reminds me of a case I once worked on.

A semi retired well known Mafiosi who settled in Van Horn, Texas. He used to drive around town (and not much of a town to drive around) with a trailer attached to his truck with a 50 cal machine gun mounted in it. Of course the gun was fixed for parade use and was not working (or at least it wasn't at one time-har har). Folks didn't pay him too much mind, just thought him to be an eccentric crazy old fool.

I remember back in the 80's when you could buy "shorty" AR-15's from SGW that were military over runs. EVERYTHING inside was M-16 except the bolt carrier. They did put a stop on the receiver to keep the selector from "easily" going around to to the rock and roll. M-16 bolt carriers were pretty cheap back then as I recall as well. I never was a fan-boi of the 16 in any configuration but I knew some ol boys that were.

I'm considering a Colt M4 in February. Had my chioce and got an AK clone, Bulgarian SLR-101S instead. I would like to get my son experienced on the Colt, since this AR Platform is so wide spread. Prices on the Colts has come down a bit in the last 6 years.
