Oldsmobiles rock!!!
My Oldsmobile is a 1965, F-85. And when I get the time and money I would love to upgrade it with the 442 package. I am 1/3 of the way there as far as the requirements. But people fight me day and night saying it "can't" be a 442 because the "2" stand for two door. Pretty sure it's dual exhaust, which I have. Once I get a 400 block and a four barrel carb I am in business. I like 4 door over two door. Reminds me of the Impala from Supernatural. It's just corn syrup... Warm, blood flavored, corn syrup ...

Thanked: 884One of the boys I went to school with was a rich kid. His first car was a BRAND NEW, '67 442. That was one hard charging SOB and would smoke 'em till the tires went flat if you wanted it to. He did on a couple of occasions just to show off. I drove it one day, and lit 'em all the way to about 80. Speedo was showing a LOT more than that but I let off for it to get a bite, the speedo backed down to 80. HELL of a machine they were.
Freddy got drafted in '69 and ended getting killed in Nam in '70 when I graduated from high school. Don't know what happened to his car.
He was a trip. Like so many others, it's a damn shame he never got to grow old.Member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.

Thanked: 2701963 Ford Falcon
It was an old Post Office company car. Bought September 1971 for $325. Went to Earl Scheib and had it painted for $39.95. When the family moved from California to Louisiana I drove the car. Kept it until 1973.

You are correct. The 442 was originally a designation for a 4-barrel, 4-speed, dual exhaust, but for '65 it more or less also stood for the 400 CID engine. That really wasn't all, though. Since it was the evolution of the older Police Apprehender Pursuit Package from '64-previous, it continued to include heavy-duty suspension, wider wheels and tires, special rear axle and driveshaft, heavy-duty engine mounts, steering gear & frame, front and rear stabilizer bars, 11-inch clutch, 70-amp battery, and the obligatory nameplates.

This brings back memories. I know I have some pics somewhere. Just don't know where for now. It was an Autobianchi A112 1972 model. They were produced in Milan. I owned the same as the one posted only in dark blue. Time sure flies.

Mine would be a '69 Coronet R/T, but I could be very happy with just about any '69 Coronet/Bee or even a GTX/Roadrunner/Belvedere. Wouldn't turn my nose up at a Barracuda, either.
I do like these newer Challengers. Haven't had a chance to drive one yet. Got a friend out here that has a black '10 Challenger SRT8. It's crazy fast.
I rented one of the new V-6 Mustangs and drove from Pensacola airport to Jacksonville, FL in less than 4 hours. Not a big fan of V-6 engines, but that one was pretty spry. Rented one of the convertibles to drive from Kona down to Mauna Loa on those winding mountain roads. Lots of fun - luckily no cops! There are a lot of those on the roads rented by tourists down there. At one point, I had somebody in a Saleen trying to stay with me. The car could have no doubt blown by me, but the driver couldn't hang!

Thanked: 884My grand father had a Falcon like the one CaliforniaCajun posted. It was a great old car. He decided since it was such a good car that he'd replace it with a Pinto wagon. He cussed that POS til the day he died. LOL
