See now you're just gloating I waited most of my life to sport the old Kentucky Waterfall but by the time I was at liberty to do so, I had more hair coming from my nose and ears than I did on my head
The older I get, the better I was

I'm not sure if this counts. First car my parents bought me when I was 16. I had been saving ($2500) to put towards a car for myself, they said that wouldn't get me a good car. So instead my dad and I decided on this 1988 Camaro, 305 TBI, automatic and t-tops. At 16, that $2500 went to the first year and a half of insurance. After many lies from my dad regarding the title of the car, I stopped caring for the car. After I ran it into the ground and purchased my OWN vehicle, this went into storage. My dad has already spent about $4000 getting it in running condition again, and it still needs $5000 in paint and bodywork because it got hit 3 times while it was parked. My dad decided he needed the $2200 in insurance checks than I did and more than the car needed to not have dents. Anyway, end of that rant lol, big can of worms there.

All issues aside, I babied this car for the first 2 years I drove it. Washed it almost weekly, took it to the weekly gearhead gathering, purchased a built 355 to throw in it but was told AFTER that I was not allowed lol. This picture was early on, I later installed a ram-air/cowl hood from Cervini.

I'm turning 28 later this months and I have yet to buy my first car.

I used to drive my parents car, but after I moved out (and mostly before as well) I've gotten around more than adequately on foot, bicycle and public transport.

I haven't seen E.T. or any of The Godfather installments either. My life is still very awesome.

Over here we would assume you had at least 3 DWI convictions to be still riding a bike at the age of 28.....but over there it's probably not the case.... LOL

In the bigger cities here, specially at the short distances, say 10 km or less, bicycle is usually the fastest way to get going.

Sadly, mine was a 232 straight six, it did have the 20 gallon tank though! It was the worst car in the snow ever, with the big engine in the front and rear wheel drive and no weight in the back.

Well, my first car was a Trabant with 6V installation. I work on this car for 2-3 weeks in order to get him running. It was wagon version with many great features if you had a girlfriend. I did had a girlfriend. After car was done I took it for spin. I decided to visit my amazing girlfriend. I was going thru the forest area. July night, me leather jacket, best aftershave I could get ( at this time it was probably $1 aftershave), music and 90-100 km/h. Scenery was perfect... then some very unsocial deer decided to cross my plans. Totally unaware where and for what I was going for, he decided to cross the road in exactly same time I look into his eyes and said "Oh no, just not this!". Baaaam.... like in the cartoon and slow motion I saw my headlights, front bumper, turn signal, front pieces of the car flaying up in the air. Between all this pieces of my car I could see very unhappy deer. His flight was short but well executed. He become new member of roadkill family. Since Trabant was build from pressed paper there was not much left from the front of the car. I turn back to the house, not sad, not angry just like nothing happen.... my 3 weeks of work was gone. My father ask what happen, the I explained him slow motion experience, deer and his plan to destroy my night.... then he ask me "Where is the deer? Go get it!". Side note-my father is a hunter...

    In case you wonder.....
