Electrical Engineer. I write software for industrial equipment and touch screens (HMI).
Currently I work for a mfg. of spray booths (automotive and truck), powder coating booths, and industrial ovens. I design their control panels and do customer support.

Thanked: 118I'm a Mid-level IT Network / Systems Engineer. That means I get yelled at by the Low level support, high level support, and the Customer.
So like all of these guys I'm what's classified as the working poor.
Been working since I was 15.
First scrubbed toilets, etc. as a janitor.
Worked retail warehouse (Fedco if anyone remembers back to the stone ages).
During the California Aerospace boom I worked warehouse then migrated to IT support.
Now I work for an IT support contract company in Southern Californa.
... Frankly Costco sounds pretty stress free right about now.
At least you won't have to keep recertifying every 3 years!May your lather be moist and slick, the sweep of your razor sure, and your edge always keen!

This thread is making me happy I have a job I at least enjoy for the moment, and also makes me want to try to get a job with a great chef and work my @** off.
Customers like me and my boss(been invited to weddings before), but since I'm the only knowledgeable employee who speaks english fluently I also get to deal with every problem even tho its not in my job descriptions and I don't get compensated for it. I feel for you IT guys, I wouldn't want to deal with problems 40 or more hours a week.

I live in the Netherlands too. Why wouldn't we be allowed to complain? It is not all hunky dory here.
