Thanked: 30Frankly, with a contracting freelance background, I have been there and back quite a few times. Your reputation is fine, might even get to know the locals a little better! Seriously though, with the people those with jobs pass on the way to work just begging, being industrious and still working for a living is a good sight. Plus, the scavaging is better when the curbs are fresh!
mmmmm penguins!
Same here, Dont forget about team leads and management yelling at you! Screw costco, I am setting up to be a hermit in the woods. Super low tech, fire and steel!
Actually I find these "throwback" things to be pretty relaxing in the face of the job/tech strains. Doing customization/repair work on swords, very low thought, low physical strain and requires enough attention to shut the workday out of your head. Then on the really frustrating/irritating days, you can vent and practice cutting things! Take the monday morning shave, aint no way you can worry about how crappy of a monday its going to be when you have the smell of lather in your nostrils and a razor to your neck. the mondays get relagated to the drive to work and at work!
