Thanked: 1371Oz, my kids are super impressed that you know Geoff.
That makes you a bigger celebrity than Jimb-ohh in my house!
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

I make my living as an artist and craftsman doing metal engraving of various kinds. Mostly firearms and custom cutlery.

I'm a general-purpose creative person. I've done commercial art, kids-television animation, web design, game development, worked in a comic book store and got promoted to the mail room. Lately though I'm pretty focused on writing. I've got stories in three different anthologies (one of which just won the Stoker award for best horror anthology of 2011!) and two and a half novels in the pipeline.
Mostly, I love learning about things and I've finally figured out how to get paid (a little bit) to do it!

Thanked: 235I teach English as a second language at an Islamic College in Thailand. The majority of my students are poor, underprivledged students from the south of Thailand that has been over run by terrorism. Not a nice place to be.
Then on Saturdays I also teach English at a language center where my students are the children of the rather wealthy. One day I was teaching my students about things in a house and when I asked a student did their house have a garden she replied, "Which one?"
